Anyone here taken the console apart? Does that top piece that surrounds the cup holders an butts to the shifter area come off the sides like the older imprezas? I dont want to drop $70 to change the color of one plastic part.

Also, im wondering if previous gen console parts fit. They look quite similar.

I have the ivory interior but clearly this part shoukd have been black with this interior.

Also open to swaps. Want to make a quick $20? Swap this piece with me.

Yeah I've seen the post with the member who got it installed. $400 is a little steep I think for just an axleback. Lol. I just got a custom made Magnaflow done for mine for $180 at a local muffler shop

Would I really notice any difference with the cusco unit over none? I drive aggressively but no autocross or anything like that so I don't know if I should care?
I got a Ultra Racing strut tower brace...ebay...its hard to tell if it does anything. My car seemed to be very susceptible to being moved around by the wind when driving at higher speeds...after i installed the brace it seemed to have fix the problem...but that could have also been the rear sway bar...not too sure, but I like knowing its there, possibly helping.

So I have been wanting to pull the trigger on a short shifter but I can't decide between the perrin, Cobb, or TWM. The perrin is so much cheaper but the other two look much more stable. I can't make up my mind!!

Adjustability of the Cobb is awesome. Can keep your stock height with maximum shortness of throws!! Looks good as well, even though you won't see it after install.

The perrin is rock solid, you keep the stock shifter and height, and you can adjust it.

Also very simple to install. But get whatever you want, just get one because the shorter throws make the 5 speed much, much, better!

Is the perrin just the adapter that hooks on to the stock shifter? Thats all I saw on the website.

yes, and they include polyurethane bushings as well. The stock lever is turned away from the linkage, and the Perrin adapter is fitted with the stock shift bearing and rubber bushings, and slid on the shift lever, then the shift linkage is reattached. It sounds more complicated than it is, it is easy to do it yourself.

How hard is it to install the bushings? When I look at the installation PDF on the Perrin web site, it looks like you have to lower the transmission or something, which doesn't sound like my idea of fun.

hmm that sounds easier than most of the videos I have seen on youtube having to replace the shifter and such. Did you have to take off the center console or just the shift boot and knob?

the console fits over the piece of plastic that houses the shift boot. you have to remove 3 screws and it just lifts off. the console is the easiest part of the process

And as for your chrome door handles I think part number 8 is what you are looking for. Only 3 bucks so it is worth a shot

I'm interested in getting the chrome ring for the fog lights for my sport premium. What are those called? I only see the housing for which the light/lens is placed. Anyone know if they are easy to install around the light?

When it warms up im going to remove the console and inspect it. Worse case i buy a black console, swap the part and ditch the rest for only $60.

The chrome. Door handles will be morr challenging.

Sorry for blowing up the thread here.
