depends on the gear, 3rd and 2k don't mix well together. i take it real easy if i'm around that point, once i'm above 2500 its all out!

That depends. 2k will lug the engine at full throttle, or when accelerating with a heavy load in the car, or when trying to climb a steep hill.

But you're right that 2k is fine for cruising without accelerating, or perhaps even for gentle acceleration.

The 2.0L normally aspirated engine doesn't have enough low-end torque to do anything you ask of it at 2k. If you want that, get a turbo or diesel engine.

2k is really great for cruising. You can still accelerate, though not quickly. I'll shift at 2500 if I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere. You can cruise on flat ground down to 1400 or so without major issues, but you better downshift if you want to go even 1mph faster.

working on this today...

yes, that is the stock rear speaker, i don't feel the need to replace it as it is only for fill at set to about 15% lower output than the fronts (Polk DB-6501s)

i used 1 sheet of RAAMmat and covered roughtly 30% of the door skin and 25% of the inner pannel. THen used closed cell foam to seal all the holes (the stock "moisture barrier" was falling off already!), then closed cell foam glued to my MLV. door feels solid now when you close it. hopefully it drops the road noise a bit

Nice. Where do you live? I've been thinking tint will be cheaper in arizona than Pennsylvania because everyone has tint in az.

Well, I have the 2 rear doors done, the hatch floor and door done. Pretty impressive. Can't wait to fit the front 2 doors done and if I have enough mlv let over I will try to do the front footwells.

Right now there is all a lot of road noise from the front, but until my passenger window gets the tsb completed next week that is just what I will have to live with. A lot of the noise from the back is greatly reduced, I wish I had a spl meter to actually measure

For me in PA, they quoted me at 220 out the door on my wagon at the shop I use. Seems about right.

Hey all,

I just installed a Volt HID kit on my 2012 Impreza and they work great however, once I started up my car I noticed the automatic down button on the driver window doesn't work properly. The window still goes down, but I have to hold the button down instead of just pushing once.

Does anyone know what may have caused this?

Thanks for help in advance!

These goodies finally came in the mail! Badge vinyl overlays, yellow fog tint overlays, and Perrin stubby antenna. Just waiting for my KB shift knob.

Have you tried searching or reading your owners manual?

Did you order from eBay? If you did then I think I know which listing it was lol. The ad said Red stars. I ordered direct from their site to avoid confusion haha

Got two quotes yesterday, from Tint Shop Inc, and Masters Window Tinting, both on Long Island NY. Tint Shop wanted $190 for 3M Film (FX Premium), Masters wanted $210 (or 220, not sure) for Solargard.

Both with Lifetime warranties.

Probably going to go with Tint Shop.

I got a ridiculous quote the other day for the 3M Ceramic, $575.

Has to help. I've been wanting to do this and would consider the front footwells a must. Get more material. This is one of the loudest cars I've ever driven.. nice work btw.

While far from scientific grade, both Apple and Android have decibel meter apps that you can download for free. At least it would give you an idea of how you're progressing.

If your front passenger window rotates forward when going down there is a fix for it. Pretty much all cars built before may2012 probably have the problem.

and here is what the door looks like before the MLV

i think on the fronts instead of using only foam to fill the holes i will use foam/mlv, then cover everything with foam/mlv like i have been. can't hurt and it might seal the door better and possible make my front speakers have a little tighter sound

all together once i got it figured out 1st rear door took over 2 hours, the 2nd rear door took about 45 minutes, the hatch door took about 45-1hr.

i am really liking how solid the door feel now
