^^My front bumper is starting to look like that too. I plan to buy some touch up paint. Hopefully if I keep up with the paint chips it won't look too bad.

On a side note; I have been riding on soft 15 inch winter tires and decided yesterday winter was over (im sure we will get more snow). But anyways I put on my Sparco's wrapped in 225/45 performance tires and went for a spin. I forgot just how well these cars handle. I have the upper strut bar and can't wait to upgrade my rear sway bar. The car may not have the most power but when the roads get windy it really shines. I find myself making excuses to go out so I get to drive my car.

I will have pictures soon, she is getting a much needed bath later this week,

Would it be worth it to make the jump to a Perrin? I have no issues or problems with my existing one though.

Sorry what is this TSB you speak off?

Sorry I found the answer now, I was reading all the posts I missed since the last time I posted.
It was 170 shipped.

Maybe look around a bit on craigslist or eBay, anyhow best of luck with your searching.

Damn, that's a good price, I wish I had waited another 9 months and got the Perrin. Oh well I guess I'll stick with the XV one for now.

I don't have the paint chips and rust but I have a lot of hairline scratches/swirl marks. The clear coat is much too thin for our cars.

Not true, you can certainly adjust the headlight angle with the adjustment screw. I believe you can even adjust the side to side angle as well.

My man jj patterson has the hookup on all perrin products.

As for the paint complaints. This has always been a subaru thing. My buddies 03 wrx looked like an asteroid field on the front end.

Is there anywhere we can get protectors for the front end of this car? I think I may do so if anyone can find one, as the paint is pretty much garbage on the front end. Less than 6 months old and already two minor chips.

I'm sure you can find someone locally to install a clear bra.

Re. that TSB about the front passenger window: Both of my rear windows do that. If you roll them down around half way, you can wiggle them around all over the place. Does anyone know if this is a common issue, or if the TSB covers it? Doesn't really seem like a major problem to me, since the window still closes securely.

I had some nasty chips on my hood as well, but I got them cleaned up, primed, and put touch up paint on them. The only solution to prevent this is to get a clear bra on the whole front end

If your subaru doesn't get rock chips, then you've bought a fake.
Its all part of that rally pedigree.

They also sell that deflector for the hood.

And to avoid tailgating. My Impreza has almost 13k miles on it, and I only have one paint chip on my hood.

People claim that Subaru paint is ridiculously chip-prone, but I found that my 2010 VW TDI paint chipped even more easily, and I drove that car the same way (in terms of my tailgating avoidance).

I will look later today, but I'm 99% sure it is only the front passenger window and vehicles built before may 2012

Ive got a hood deflector and touch up paint so I should be ok for the most part.

The bumper has a bunch of rock chips, but the dgm hides the grey plastic underneath well. lol

18k miles and maybe a couple of chips, but nothing that has gone through the primer. I can't imagine the conditions for the paint to look at bad. Unless you're tailgating rock trucks on a gravel road in a sandstorm.

washing and waxing car, before you ecounter snow or etc, will alleviate but not eliminate this issue.

I did some reading on a separate thread and learned someone had found that pulling the handbrake on this car disables the stability control. This was on a CVT model, and while I have never actually tried doing so as I have no need, but what they discovered was that if you pull up on the ebrake a few clicks or so, however much you can before it actually starts to contact, it completely disables the stability control, something that the ESC button does not completely disable. I don't really have anywhere to test this right now, but if anyone else is willing to try please report back to us whether this is actually true or not.
