That is what I suggested, but keep this in mind:

my old and dying nissan altima lost its auto antenna function (antenna in the trunk), so the motor would grind but the antenna was stuck.

No biggie, I went to the trunk and cut the power wire into the antenna motor.

And got an airbag light, so there goes the airbag...

and of course I reconnected the power, but the airbag light did not go off

so be careful with electronics, they are unpredictable sometimes.

Maybe, it looked like a simple 2 wire switch

Just kidding, the throw is now shorter, and the lever is not close to blocking the cubby. It is moving the lever further away in those three gears, but if you can reach the temperature control dial without moving your back off the seat you will have no issue with the position of the lever, and it took me no learning curve to find the lever while driving without searching for it (proprioception not affected by moving the lever the amount the Perrin adapter does, in its shortest throw position).

I also cranked that allen bolt down because this is the final position, the shortest throw is the best

Just got an email reply from the people at Rally Innovations regarding light bars for our cars. For those interested, they said expect them late April / early May.

Can't wait!!

I was interested in a RallyInnovatin bar as well, however, after reading a number of views I have seen multiple people complain of the flimsyness due to the way they mount.

+1 and also about the price, I rather spend the money for a better product, we shall see if this new generation cuts the mustard.

Are light bars like this purely aesthetic or do you plan on taking these cars off road?

i plan on driving through all the polluted areas in NJ with my lights glaring ,
I will probably use them when I am traveling my usual back country roads with some light off road usage. I also like the look and plan on painting mine my car color and etc

I don't plan on taking my car on heavy off road but back dirt roads. And I would like something to offer protection from snow/ other drivers parking. If you look at the rally innovations bar you will notice it bolts into the license plate. Have you felt how flimsy the bumper is there?? Not to mention if you bump something with the bar you are likely going to damage your bumper. I want something that is aesthetically pleasing yet functional. Until I find that I don't see the need to spend a few hundred bucks on the bar

Starting April 19th I will rip through twenty miles of dirt road a day, on the way to work. I plan on blinding deer and rabbits before ripping past them at speed haha

I am hoping I don't end up having someone custom make a bar for me, this waiting to see whats going to be available aftermarket is killing me. The xv one is freaking already available why why why does the xv get theirs first.

I contacted the company and they said the XV bar will fit on our cars. You have to buy the skid plate too. I just don't like the looks of it. I assume you are talking about Primitive

yep, especially annoying given when the reg imp was released in comparison to the xv, i also don't need the skid plate so that also deal breaker for me

I contacted Primitive. For our car $255 for the bar and $239 for the skid plate plus whatever shipping is. Yeah, no thanks. You need the skid plate because the bar bolts to it. They sent me pictures of it mounted on an XV, I think it looks pretty lame.

Since we're talking about fabrication and things not out yet, any word of anyone making a WRX style hood for these? That dark grey test mule had one and it looked great on the car. I'd love one.

That'd be cool... but to me, if your hood scoop isn't functional, it's rice. Cept for older scoobies like the 99 Legacy and such.

Exactly. Even the old gen 1 Imprezas and such had the scoops and vents that were closed. To me, I just think the front would benefit from it. I love the back of the wagon, but the front is just so "there". And I'm not talking a giant STI style scoop, just the clean one from the newer WRX and Leggy turbo.
