Nope, just the AppRadio. A friend has the AppRadio 2 and it's already leagues better. In general I think I'm just going to stay away from app-based or cell-phone centered head units. The more I think about longevity, the more it doesn't make sense to have a head unit that'll be outdated just as quickly as cell phones are.

Also, if you got the OEM Navigation from the new cars you mentioned, wouldn't you be missing some the features your base model lacks? Like the steering wheel controls, 2 less speakers, the rear view camera and the microphones for the Bluetooth (does the base model have them?) That's just a few I thought of.
I do get employee discounts on parts.

The 2012 Base Model Impreza lacked a LOT of things, but many of them I was okay with. No Paddle Shifters on the CVT version, no cruise control, no steering wheel mounted radio controls, no BlueTooth, 4 Speaker audio system (no tweeters on the dash), no AUX or USB input.

The only thing that I really wanted to add was the ability to connect my iPod to the head unit. I did the FM Transmitter thing, but I never liked doing that. Instead of trying to wire in an AUX or USB cable to my OEM head unit, I explored aftermarket replacements. The AppRadio was cool for awhile but, like I said, had enough flaws that just started to bother me after awhile.

My primary goal is still just to get a good head unit that'll connect to an MP3 player via USB, I'd like a touch screen, and personally I like in-dash Navigation. I know a Garmin or TomTom GPS would be just fine, but I prefer to keep my dash simple. Cell Phones, GPS devices, and the like just clutter it up for me. Personal preference is to consolidate things for a clean look.

Because I don't have buttons all over my steering wheel, it looks pretty clean too. It also means if I want to put an aftermarket steering wheel on there that it's not a nightmare to try to hook up all the wheel-mounted controls either. I've toyed with the idea of swapping the BRZ's wheel on there. Just looks sharp!

Aftermarket radios always tend to open a can of worms, though. It's why I was considering tracking down an OEM nav unit. I don't have any issues with how they operate. I'd still need to wire in the USB and AUX for it, though.

I have all the features on your bucket list and my garmin gps are equipped for usage internationally as I travel a lot. built in car navigation is nonsense and never worth the money gps data should be updated at least every quarter.
Sounds cool, but Backup Cameras aren't really worth the hassle for me. I can see backwards just fine in my 5-door. I do a lot of travel, but not internationally. All of my travel is in my Impreza: the adventuremobile! So having it integrated into my head unit generally works better for me.

Are you using the stock 22mm front? Mind reporting back to us the overall improvement once you get it all installed?

Okay. So since it sounds like you're leaning towards tracking down an OEM Navi unit, you're also going to need a GPS antenna. If you buy a new unit, maybe it comes with it.

Maybe you should never wash your car and always leave it covered with a layer of dirt.

That's really bad, would there be anything the dealership could do about it? I have a lot of (micro) scratches into the paint, the clear-coat is so thin. I got it cut and polished once and not long after all the scratches and swirls were back.

Below are some pics of the different screen options.

This one shows average gas left gas average gas consumption.

Time, Date, and a few other options to choose from. Can be analog or digital.

Triple meter. Shows trip time, km driven, and engine temp gauge. There are other available options to choose from as well.

Shows which wheels are slipping out during slippery conditions or when going around hard turns at speed.

Bar graph showing your gas consumption for every 30 seconds of driving. There is a red line and it shows if you are going above or below your average consumption.

Similar to last screen. Shows average consumption + or -

There are many other things that are included with the screen. You can set birthday reminders, maintenance reminders, and a bunch of other stuff I currently dont remember.
This screen really helps you want to get the best gas consumption possible. At times I find myself driving slow and doing anything I can to get the best possible gas consumption. Just today I drove over 150 km right after filling up the tank and the average km remaining stayed at above 700 km for the whole trip.
Useful stuff, but also at times useless.
I fidgeted with the various options the display would show but in the end I just left it on the factory defaults. My lifetime MPG is 8.8 for the last 8000 km, as the gauge resets every 10000 km (I'm at 18000 km). Is 6.6 your lifetime or just for a recent trip?

Well, I'd go with something else if it'd be A: cheaper and B: better. Open to suggestions.

Edit: Nevermind. I heard a scraping noise upon startup but the motor was being loud warming up and it was bouncing off the cars parked next to me and it amplified the sound.

The silver actually takes to colored wheels well. I was thinking of going teal on my spare set of Rota's.

They appear to be Sumitomo's. lol

You can do that to any tire. It just takes time and a steady hand.

If anyone is around and has the day off come check this out... Might be cool to meet up with some other 2012/2013 owners.

Wish I still lived in New England! Not just for this meet, but the roads/terrain up there is much more demanding than Nebraska byways and gravel.

Question to folks... the OEM Navigation in the Impreza, it looks and functions the same as the one in the BRZ, Crosstrek, and '14 Forester. However, the model code in the upper right corner is different. Would, say, a BRZ OEM Navigation headunit work in an Impreza?

Has anyone who installed RallyArmor mud flaps rubber coat or paint the mounting brackets to prevent rust or do they do pretty well on their own?

I didn't, but I plan to remove them if spring ever comes to adjust the way the fronts sit

Alright folks... it's me again with my not-so-"Base"-anymore Impreza. Should I add Side Spoilers to my 5-door hatch? Been on the fence about this for awhile. Priced it out, it's do-able. What say you?
