One thing I'm not touching is the exterior. The less attention from police and thieves, the better.

Agreed. Aside from wheels and the "add on" spoiler, I'm staying as-is..

Only one I have come across so far is when using spotify, it doesn't always display the artist info and album art correctly...and that's using an iPhone 5 and the OEM nav unit.

Everything else including streaming over Bluetooth works fine for me so far!

I will be receiving the Hella Horns tomorrow. I just order the RS-S springs from Japan today. Can't wait to drop the wagon and install the RA flap.

The only issue I have with my iPhone 4S when it comes to my Bluetooth is that it will automatically start playing music from my phone as soon as I start the car without me hitting play. Not sure why it does this.

Well...it's debatable, until you look at price comparisons, and more importantly, Apple maps. Apple vs Google maps is like comparing a Robin Reliant to a BMW M3 and suggesting there is a valid performance comparison to be had.

Minus the fact that the robin reliant has millions and millions of possible add ons available (for examole, applications) compared to the few million for the BMW, in this case.

What I usually say is that if you're someone looking for more than just simple apps, and you want something easily customizable and fun to play with get an android phone. if you're not a techie person, or want both a fantasic camera and a large amount of available apps (most of all, a simple to use phone) go the IOS way.

I have personally owned an iPhone 3GS and 4, as well as a Motorola Backflip, Motorola Atrix, Galaxy S 4G, and HTC One X and prefer android. Though I'm biased, since I'm a computer technician/techie, and regularly flash ROMs. and yes my iPhone was jailbroken.

Anyway, if this argument continues on another thread someone tell me, I'm not looking to flood this thread with IOS vs Android comments.

Had to throw in my .02

Yeah I'm not looking for a flamewar either. I work IT tech too, good to see a fellow on here! I actually agree with you. The main problem I have is making it clear to people that Android is an operating system, which means that just because you had a crap Android phone, doesn't mean there aren't Android phones out there that are literally mind blowing.

An IOS is essentially a phone, even though it's technically an operating system, since the phone must come paired to a device that has been heavily tested and certified to do almost everything well before being placed on sale. There are no sh**t iPhone models, but there are some awful Android models, leading to negative perceptions. I was personally becoming split on the whole iPhone/Android story till apple maps came out. Worst. Decision. Ever.

Since we've gone from 12/13 Impreza talk to phones, I'll contribute. lol

First smartphones were Blackberry's for me. Had the original World Phone, the Bold, the Storm v1, Curve, etc.. Then got the iPhone. Had them since. Started on a 3, moved through to my current 5. I'm just used to them. I'm not big into "this phone is better than that phone". It's all in what you do. For what I do, it works great. My Dad got that new Razr Maxx Android, and it's ok. And my girl recently got the Galaxy S3. It's really neat. But aside from the customization, there's really no perks over mine. Dunno. lol

So, about those Impreza's.. lol

I am a rooted galaxy s 3 user coming from htc evo. Androids open market blows apple away not to mention the capabilities of the android system far outweighs ios. Plus android tech is available before apple. If a phone is a phone to you then it may not matter but if you're looking to get the most out of your phone go android. Especially as mirrorlink for car headunits gets better and better. Apple is being surpassed by google by leaps and bounds now that steve jobs isn't there to steal tech from korean developers. Siri... yeah not an apple idea like you may think.

I just wish android 4.2.2 would pass metadata over Bluetooth...

And about the hood struts, will take a bit of r&d, I can't see a real good place to put the lower mount for the strut(s). Anyone know how much the hood weighs?

I do not know how much the hood weighs, but that's probably not a number that you'd need anyway.

The force you'd need to get from the struts is a function of where they're positioned, and what angle they're at. If you stuck the struts right by the hinge, they'd need to be able to produce an immense amount of force. If they're further out toward the front of the hood, you need less force.

No, unless you count the autoplay issue I mentioned. Which seems to be across the Subaru line regardless of the phone used.

Noted.

A similair problem happens to me, the phone will automatically go to a music player upon turning the key to acc and will continue to drain battery (Not playing anything, the screen is just glowing "No music in your folder" or something like that) and this is on a flip phone with bt.

So your saying ill have the same problem with the next phone... wonderful lol
