I am pretty sure they're compatible with 2012+ Imprezas as they are basically the same vehicle. Not sure about the previous gen Impreza/WRX

That's what I figured I don't see why they wouldn't be compatible but the website specifically mentions only the Crosstrek and I'm wondering why.

As part of my spring switchover from snow to summer tires, I also did my annual disassembly and cleaning/lubrication of the brakes. All looks good. This is my first time doing this task on the Impreza (or any Subaru, for that matter). I was surprised at how small the rear brake pads/calipers are! But everything is wearing nicely.

Winter to summer, lol.

It has been snowing at the rate of 1"/hr for last 4 hours

Careful where you aim, wouldn't want to knock out the rear window

Nice. The improved flatness when taking corners at speed is very noticeable.

Ordered Rally Armor Black Urethane Mudflaps. Gonna install them sometime this week along with the "Side Skirts" or "Rocker Spoilers" (body kit from the Impreza Sport) that should be in today or tomorrow. Pretty excited, as I've been on the fence about these options for awhile.

The downside? Now I've gotta take new photos of my car! Wait... I love doing that. That's not a problem. YAY!

If you don't mind me asking how much did the skirts and rocker spoilers run you alltogether?

So yesterday I really pushed the car close to it's tractive limit to see how the 19mm performs. I found something interesting, at high turn angles with some throttle the car will start to understeer, though not severely, but with neutral throttle it's handling is neutral to a very slight bias of oversteer.

Anyway, understeer will generally drive me up a wall faster than running out of gas, so I'm looking to cure this issue. I've seen that whiteline sells a 22mm rear sway bar, and I found a site where you can get it bundled with the upgraded endlinks (which it's going to need of course). The whole package was about $250.

Can anyone perhaps point me toward where I could get this because I can't really remember where I saw it. I also wouldn't mind a bit better steering feel, which I've heard the strut tower helps with (as well as helping curb understeer). Can anyone give their opinion about this and what I should do to improve performance?

I noticed an immediate improvement with the perrin strut tower bar.

Is that link the one for our 4th Gen Imprezas, scoutisimo?

Do you experience any understeer at the limit with the Perrin strut tower?

The bar I installed was for the current wrx\sti. Fits great. I noticed slight better oversteer response when entering a corning. It cuts in much better. I have pics if anyone is interested.

So u are saying that the wrx/sti front strut bar will ffit the new Impreza?
I wonder about the rear too.
I say a generic rear for $50 & front for $65
I would like to see a pic.

What other suspension/handling modifications have you made? I'm running stock front and rear sways and I'm trying to decide what to do first: sways or strut tower brace.

You're right! I am very pleased with how the car handles now. This is definitely a MUST upgrade for anybody wanting a better handling Impreza.

On a side note, I will be selling my 16mm RSB and bushings....for those of you that have already, what were you able to obtain as far as price?

So...front strut tower brace vs 22mm rear sway...which is more likely to improve the handling of the car? I heard the vague steering feel is improved and turn in is also better with the strut tower. Does it improve body roll and understeer characteristics at all?

While I cannot officially comment on the effectiveness of the strut tower brace (which I also plan to do at a later date) I can say that I think the biggest contributor to better feel will be the RSB. It really is a pretty big difference in body roll and understeer. Like many have said, it just feels more neutral and to me, more planted in tighter turns and curves at speed.

Edit: I see you were asking about the 22mm RSB....I only did the 19mm, but I still stand by what I said. Having done it now, I don't think I'd do the 22mm.

Yes, I have a 19mm on there actually, and am trying to decide to to eliminate the last little bit of understeer in the chassis.

Hmmm...hopefully someone who has done both the 19mm RSB and front strut tower brace will chime in. Personally, I think what little bit the front tower brace will do, it should be perfect for me. What also might help is a different set of tires, which for me won't get replaced until the stockers are worn out.

I think scoutisimo has, I'm hoping he'll come back with some performance results. I kind of feel like the steering is vague, and am willing to forego a thicker sway bar in exchange for a strut tower if that helps cure the sleepy feeling steering.

My 19mm STi rsb is still laying in the garage. Still gotta find time to actually put it on the car, Lol. Anyways, here's a short clip of my custom made magnaflow muffler. It's been installed since November '12. Not the prettiest looking or loudest but I like the subtle growl. Perfect for my DD.

Tires will probably help that... but a lot of the loss of feeling is due to the electric assist.
