30 mins time....find it!!! It's so worth it and you'll be kicking yourself once you realize how little time it takes to install and how much of an improvement it is.

+1 The RSB upgrade is the first mod all Impreza owners should have done!

Agreed. It makes me wonder why Subaru doesn't just build the car with a 19 mm bar themselves. I'm guessing that the cost difference of a 16 mm vs 19 mm bar could be measured in pennies for a manufacturer like Subaru. And the 19 mm bar doesn't make the car ride more harshly, so customers wouldn't complain about that. I can't imagine that customers would be complaining, "Gee, I wish my car leaned MORE when I go around corners."

Unless it's a safety thing, where Subaru is trying to induce oversteer at the limits so that incompetent drivers have a better chance of regaining control.

I have done both. The RSB is definitely the better upgrade of the two. The strut tower brace also helps slightly, but it's hard to tell and I could be wrong. If it does, it's very minimal.

I agree...It is way easy to install and the difference is amazing! I have cornered to the tires limits and the cornering is fairly neutral with the 19mm sb. On turn in it understeers slightly then it wallows a bit then slight oversteer on exit. Very predictable.

Has anyone had issues with the hatch sensor being super sensitive? Mine will say its open maybe 60% of the times I open/close it, and I have to get out and close it with some gumption to get it to register.

My passenger wiper insert keeps riding down the arm, eventually it pops out of the outer-most holder on the arm so the holder rides against the glass.

I've never had a problem with the sensor, but I do notice that 80% of the time I have to either give the hatch a good push, or I close the hatch, it's not fully latched, and I need to try again. lol It's rather touchy.

I've never had this problem with my rear hatch. Perhaps you should go to the dealership and have them adjust the alignment of the latch.

If you're still using the original wipers, Amazon is currently running a sale on the Bosch Clear Advantage wiper blades (two for $20, which is a very good price). You want the 26" for the driver's side, even though the Amazon site says you want 24". The passenger's side uses 16".

I've never had an issue with my hatch & don't find that I need to close it hard to latch either. Definitely have that & your wiper arm checked out.

My only hatch complaint is the license plate rattle when you close it. I'd know that sound anywhere. At the grocery store I heard it behind me in the lot. Turned around & there's another 2012 Impreza hatch.

I feel you on the license plate rattle. Makes me cringe sometimes, like when someone slams the car door shut.

Did you notice any steering or understeer improvement with the strut tower, or would you recommend a thicker sway bar over a strut tower? ( I have a 19mm sway on there right now)

That's an easy fix. Use all 4 screws instead of the top 2. Ad foam padding if it's still rattling after that. Mine is nice and quiet.

Only other mod was adding the stock rsb. I plan on a future upgrade to the 19"

I will. I'm in the middle of a move across the entire country at the moment.

And I may be wrong but I do believe a stiffer rear and a softer front sway bar would increase oversteer.

I don't mind PA in general, but my VW TDI left me stuck near you in (are you ready for the irony?) Mechanicsburg, PA for 3 days last year. So I have negative feelings about that place.

Yes, just search for "Bosch Clear Advantage" on Amazon.com. Beneath the picture of the wiper blade, you will see a box titled "Bonus Offer" that describes the sale.

That's why I install license plates with washers behind them and it helps protect the paint

So how many of you are looking at this latest news on the WRX STi spotted testing in Germany and thinking "Hey, I wanna swap those mirrors!"

Because that's totally what I'm thinking. The mirrors on the 4th Gen Impreza have always bothered me just a little. They're oversized IMHO, and now I know why. Go to your local Subaru dealer and look at the new 2014 Forester mirrors. It's the same thing, same identical part. Now look at the new WRX STi... see all the cues it takes from the Impreza 4-Door Sedan. That mirror should be swappable as long as it's mounting point is the same as ours.

It's basically the same car. Which is good. Because soon we will have aftermarket upgrades like rain. Course I may have moved on to a WRX by the time that thing comes out...

For me, there is no "Switch" to the WRX unless it's offered in a 5-Door. I can't give up the functionality (or the styling that I prefer) of the Hatchback.
