Not really the grill is below the intake, you might get a drop or two occasional but nothing significant.

This is what I was wondering too.

I understand the appeal of mods, but sometimes I wonder why people think they know more about a car's needs than the engineers know.

I wouldn't worry about it too much considering that the sport grille is completely mesh.

I removed that entire back part of the grille last year, and didn't see any difference in power/fuel economy so I put it back. It was raining too but nothing bad happened.

I put it back later in the week and if I wasn't so lazy I might have done the same by now. I don't think its a bad idea, probably just unnecessary.

Slightly off topic, but I traded in my '13 Impreza for the '13 WRX -- and the all weather mats aren't interchangeable (since the WRX's are in the older body style)

Anyone need a set? I think i'll me making a classified ad.

Make sure they get all the rock chips in the front bumper, because goddamn this paint is fragile.

As is the front bumper itself, having somehow cracked it without ever hitting anything

That you know of. How do you know someone didn't back into your car while it was parked in a parking lot? I find it difficult to believe that your bumper just cracked spontaneously without some kind of impact event, regardless of whether you're aware of that event or not.

Speaking of paint,

I had no idea the rims were merely just painted. I inadvertently took a big chip out of one when torquing my wheel back on. Does anyone know the touch up color?

Duplicolor Part Number: TY01614. Color is called Phantom Grey Pearl, which isn't 100% perfect, but close enough.

Day 2 review- The touch up paint is almost a full shade darker, but its not easy to notice from 5 feet away. Probably invisible if your wheels are dirty.

Good to know, I have a spot that I should touch up too. No idea how I managed to get a ding in the middle of a spoke

So mysubaru.com says my guaranteed trade in value is $18k if under 15k miles. (Its at 36k) kbb.com says my car is worth 17755 for trade in.

After tax and fees I purchased the car at 22.6k. So in 14 months my car has lost 22% of its value? That seems high for a Subaru.

Maybe my expectations are off.

I don't think it's fair to include sales tax and fees in your calculation. What percentage of value did you lose if not including tax and fees?

My guaranteed trade in is :$16,725 with about 16k miles on my car, which is pretty ****ty too considering I bought it for $22,400 or so before taxes and fees - which is about 25% of its value

Well to be honest, Im not sure how much it was without fees. I negotiated the OTD price to minimize fees. Id guess 21.5k? In which case that's at least an 18% depreciation. I guess that's better.

Look at you Gold, using logic... lol

Yes, cars depreciate!

All cars do, but the rate of depreciation is not a constant. Cars, including Subaru's, take a huge initial depreciation hit as soon as you drive if off the lot.

My theory is that the difference, and why Subarus have a high resale value relative to other cars, is that the long term depreciation is less. Therefore you will take a lower depreciation loss (relative to comparable cars) the longer you own it, within reason (within 10 years, 250,000 miles or so at least).

I see many old subarus's driving all over the place, they are reliable high-mileage cars, and people keep them on the road a long time. When they sell them, they get pretty good money out of their ancient subies. My friend, who bought her Impreza the same day I did, has two daughters driving older Subaru's.

Which older high mileage car would you be more likely to buy for your daughter? A VW or a Subaru?
