I work for a dealer. We trade with other dealers from time to time.

So you drove a new car 120mph that hasn't been sold yet?

Yes, apparently, but that is ok, cause Scoutisimo deleted the original post when someone pointed out that it is not nice to drive a 'new' car, with an engine that is not broken in, as fast as you can -- not nice to the buyer who might want a car that has not been abused for their new car purchase, that is...

Or was it a Crosstrek someone traded in that had 10,000 miles on it already? LOL

Probably a little concerned that someone in Harrisburg, PA might speak to a local Subaru dealer about this story they just read on the internet...

This might be a dumb question, but does adjusting camber aggressively effect the AWD or traction control systems in any significant way?

I don't think anyone has tested it, and Subaru only used their multi-million dollar testing facility and engineering team to test the car as it is delivered.

So the answer is? You will probably be fine making the changes you described...but might not?

Id say no, awd wont change.

But what is affected is the durability and longevity of suspension parts.

I need a new trunk lid but why are they so hard to find? From what I understand the WRX/STI and the 2008-2011 lids both won't work because the taillights are different, right?

I assume you have a 2012+ Impreza (I can't tell because your profile on the left side of your posts doesn't describe your car). Anyway, if my assumption is correct, then no, the 2008+ WRX/STI do not share any sheetmetal with our 2012+ Imprezas.

OK, please update your profile to avoid confusion in the future. Click "User CP", and then click "Edit Your Details".

As for your trunk lid, you can always buy a replacement part from one of the reputable Subaru parts web sites, such as:

http://www.subaruparts.com/

http://estore.subarupartswarehouse.com/

http://www.subarugenuineparts.com/

I don't know about used cars but there's usually a sale pending at one of the two dealers if a trade is being done. Sucks if scoutisimo was bring a new owner their car.

I wonder if he reset the trip meter. Can you imagine getting in your new car delivered from another dealer and the avg speed is showing 105 mph. lol

There are youtube vids of top-speed runs in XV's from around the world. Theres even one where a guy goes like 123mph with a diesel.
I'll pull up a link later...

Just to throw this out there, in case someone might happen to have them...

Has anyone installed the WeatherTech rain visors / side deflectors on their 12+ sedan? If so, how have they been? I'm mulling over whether or not to get them, and $100 seems to be a bit...

(Especially considering Subaru Canada is selling side deflectors as an optional accessory for $120 CAD.)

My oem deflectors were around 100usd. I really like them. They come down further then I anticipated, but the main reason I got them was because they look much nicer/cleaner then aftermarkets (in my opinion of course)

And considering how much $$ a front lip or strake kit, side panels are, $100 is not much for a functional part.

I kind of suspected that a lot of people who choose to install them would likely go with the OEM ones. I'm considering getting side deflectors (so that we can get fresh air into the car even when it's raining - which is almost always here in Vancouver), but dread the prospect of taking my car back to the dealership - not so much from the fear of high-pressure sales tactics, more from the realization that I can't think of a polite way to tell them to "**** off".

Does anyone with side deflectors on their current Imprezas find an increase in wind noise? My parents had side deflectors on their early-2000's model Outback sedan, and the wind noise over 50 mph on that car was absolutely ridiculous.

Why would you need to? Order them online and install yourself. Its an easy install.
