Guys, question..

Since I got the car, I planned on putting some 18's and coilovers on the car.. But I was considering scrapping that idea and doing the opposite. I am looking at a set of those Sparco Terra wheels. They have an almost off-road multi-purpose look to them. Taking those in 17x7.5 (same size I'm currently running) with a reasonable sized tire, and possibly raising the car a little - or at least raising the rear a hair to be even.

So my actual question is what options do we have available to actually raise the car? I know Subtle makes the saggy butt spacers.. Anything else?

Yeah- for what you want, the subtle spacers will probably be the cheapest and easiest.
I'd go 1" in the rear and .5" on the front.
I think you are on the right track. I find my "lifted" impreza quite useful and practical as a daily driver.

I dont know about the Imprezas, but Primitive makes a pretty sweet looking 2" lift now available for XV's with all the stuff to lift it right. Brake line extensions, trailing arm brackets/spacers, upgraded springs, strut extensions, etc. $799. I'm waiting to see some jacked up XV's that others have built and tried before I consider that, but man another 2" and a size or two up on the tires would be pretty badass.

You know new prices I can't let it got for less than $350 and splitting shipping. I don't love it on the car like I thought I would but won't get raped selling it haha

Yeah, understandable.. haha The price for that just sucks. Too bad we can't just use the S204 lip. Things are like 50 bucks. haha

Just flipped 20k miles on the odometer of my 2012 Impreza Sport Premium. Purchased 15 months ago (June 2012). Other than a dashboard rattle on the passenger's side that I can't identify because I can't reach it while I'm driving alone, I have no complaints. I never doubt that the car will start and get me to my destination, which is very refreshing after my VW TDI's issues.

Good car.

Does anyone else get any "clouding" in their headlights after it raining or washing the car? It's only my headlights. Not my fogs or tails. It's done it since it was new. It's not horrible, just annoying..

Had a few drops of oil get onto my headlight during last oil change. Now the plastic is deteriorating in that spot.

Does this happen to both headlights or just one?

Every time I talked to them the price changed, 147, then 145, finally 140 per tire installed the plus tax and disposal. Came out to 617.40.

Tirerack would have been 582 shipped plus installation so another 60-70.

So far they are much quieter, much firmer even at 32/30ps, and handle great!

that's great to hear: thanks for sharing.

it's amazing what a difference tires can make. i just updated my wife's prius. she may take a 2 mpg hit, but the new Michelin Defenders are SO much quieter than her older Michelins and they handle a lot better. it's still a prius and doesn't handle as well as my Impreza, but i actually don't mind driving it as much now

Impressive. I'm holding off on soundproofing until I get reasonable tires, because I may not care enough to want to soundproof if different tires are that much better.
