Right.
But he wasn't asking about what oil they had at walmart.

Just for peace of mind, when you do change your own, I'd skip the M1. Its not really bad stuff but it has a bad reputation with subarus. Its from the 5w30 days but better safe than sorry imo.

I know. I'm just letting him know what the cheaper, more convenient options are that still provide high quality.

Me- I'm with you, Steve. Pennzoil Platinum for me if I'm buying it.
I was just trying to assure him that the oem stuff is very good.
Mine has Idemitsu 0w20 and a blue filter in it at the moment.
I get free oil changes for life so I may not end up changing mine a whole lot.

Sorry, I was posting from my phone. I have a case of Mahle OC 337 filters which is what I use on the RS and Outback. I looks and threads like the filter that the car has, but I do not want to risk it. There catalog shows to use OC 711. I purchased a Amsoil oil and filter for my 10,000 mile change.

Well it appears my new tires for sure make my speedometer under report 2%, and my odometer is now under reporting 3.5%.

Tested with 3 different phone gps's and 1 garmin.

New tires will under report. If you get it reset and/or bitch about it you're wasting time. 3mph at 100mph. Do you realize how petty you sound complaining about that?

it is just annoying. especially when the speedometer used to be correct, and I assumed samed size tire would be the same....

there isn't anything i can or will do about it, it just bothers me. but the tires are awesome and I am not at all dissapointed with their performance so far

I should also add it isn't the odo error that annoys me because that is in my favor. But in comparison to our jetta (odo perfect, speedo over reports by 5%) I am happier with how the subaru performs

You should know from bikes that tire sizes vary with different manufacturers.
Yeah it is annoying. you'd think there would be tighter standards.

With a bike you can get a Speedo Healer. Not sure if they have any way to adjust it on a car.

It can be adjusted iirc. But it would have to be pretty far off to worry about it much.

I don't think it can, I haven't seen anything in the service manual for it, but I haven't looked since last year when I had the MFD adjusted.

Like I said, it is an annoyance, but not bad enough that I will ever do anything about it.

And my bike is perfect through 55, then it starts to over report exponentially, 70=68, 80=75, 90=82

Sooo...car went in at 23,852 miles for a check engine, traction control, and flashing cruise control light. Subaru determined it might be the leak check valve assembly, so it was replaced. About 100 miles later, the lights are back on. I'm not very happy.

From what I can tell, no other 2012+ 2.0 Imprezas have had this issue and I'm the first at my dealership with this. Car is completely stock. Not having cruise control is big annoyance with the amount of freeway travel I do. Car drives completely fine otherwise. I haven't had any problems (no oil burn-off issues) aside from this.

It's going to be dropped off tomorrow for the day AGAIN. If this can't be resolved in a reasonable amount of time, I'm going to look into lemoning this.

I think inspecting it entails checking all the pipes and tubes for leaks etc
