Well then you will have to do the relays or wait for someone to get brave and start playing with wires.

looking at the wiring diagram, it looks like the computer controls it.

The computer is controlling relays, which are wired in a certain way from the factory, but that wiring can be changed.

For example, the computer closes the relay to power the DRLs on. But someone who is clever can modify the wiring so that the relay's output wires power on the foglights instead of the DRLs.

The computer isn't aware of this modification; it's just throwing the relay as programmed.

The mod I did functions as you explain. The drl power fogs now and not the high beam. The original request was to power fogs on only but not have them on as drl.

That's an odd thing to get angry over.

Government Shutdown makes me angry! Can't pay JPMorgan Chase Subaru with no paycheck if this doesn't get resolved before Oct 22nd. Sorry Subaru but it's not my fault.

Do the older gold STi brakes fit these 2012+ cars?

Is there a TSB about the ignition? Something about the part where the key is inserted not being centered? Mine is a little off...is getting this TSB done very important or just for looks? Taking the car into the dealer tomorrow.

It's just cosmetic. Mine is slightly off-center too, and I never bothered with it.

I was testing this tonight. I guess they don't go quite as far as your pic, but still further then stock imho

Pics of outback fogs, and my h9 low beams. Should be easy enough the identify the fog pattern I hope

I think the pattern would be wider if not for the foglight surrounds blocking it

I read something about a TSB a while back. It's just for looks.
Mine is also off center.

I've never looked at the ignition that closely to see if mine is off center. Now that I know, I will not look either, or else it will bug the **** outta me

The tsb consists of adding felt pads like you would use under a chair to a spot under the plastic.

I did it myself in my garage, took about 10 minutes. If it is off it will probably rattle like mine did, which is the only reason I did it

Need opinions..

Taking my car to the a lube shop and they use Pennzoil Synthetic oil (not sure what grade) they just said Pennzoil. The only thing I was worried about was the oil filter brand. Has anyone heard of "Mighty"? The lube shop claim they have been using it for years without any issues.

Any info would be appreciated.

Some members on this board, myself included, have been disappointed in the stock seats that these cars come with, and have expressed interest in replacing them with WRX seats. As far as I'm aware, nobody's successfully swapped in different seats, because of the Impreza currently being a completely different car from the WRX.

Yesterday, there was some buzz elsewhere on NASIOC about a Japanese TV program that had a segment on automatic braking technologies, including Subaru's EyeSight. The car they used for the demonstration looked exactly like the current generation Impreza sedan, but with big wheels and a hood scoop. Some suspect that it may have been our first real look at the upcoming 2015 WRX. If the 2015 WRX ends up being based on the current Impreza, or at least largely similar, we may finally have some options for better seats when it comes out in a year or so.

The BRZ seats swap right in, actually.

My fog light issue from the last page actually ended up being just the bulb. Which is weird.

I took out the stock bulbs, put in those Noyka hyperyellow ones. While there is a fair cutoff for the Noyka bulbs, there is still a lot of glare shooting upwards. I never really noticed with the stock bulb, so I replaced the one Noyka bulb with the original to do a side by side comparison. This is when I noticed my stock bulb wasn't lighting properly, and wiggling the wire made it work.

I figured it was the plug, but it turns out when I put the Noyka bulb back in, everything worked fine. So either that original bulb is broken, or the Noyka bulb somehow altered the socket to only work with Noyka bulbs.

Additionally, the stock bulb also throws a lot of light upwards and in the same pattern as the Noyka. The majority of the focused light, however, is downwards.
