Yesterday, there was some buzz elsewhere on NASIOC about a Japanese TV program that had a segment on automatic braking technologies, including Subaru's EyeSight. The car they used for the demonstration looked exactly like the current generation Impreza sedan, but with big wheels and a hood scoop. Some suspect that it may have been our first real look at the upcoming 2015 WRX. If the 2015 WRX ends up being based on the current Impreza, or at least largely similar, we may finally have some options for better seats when it comes out in a year or so.
I know I'm waiting for the new 4th Gen WRX (MY2015) to come out since many of the parts (seats included) will likely be direct bolt-on options for our Impreza. However, I'm pretty certain the photos of that hoodscooped Impreza with '14 XV Crosstrek Hybrid Wheels is just a mule of sorts. We've seen camouflaged cars running around California and the Nurnburgring that, while still based on the Impreza, are quite different from an Impreza with a hole in the roof.

BRZ seats in a 4th Generation (+12) Impreza? They bolt up? Where'd I miss that news??

TRSAndrew, is there a thread or some other documentation of BRZ seats bolting right in? I thought I'd seen something about someone trying it unsuccessfully. Also, swapping in a BRZ seat means swapping in a BRZ airbag. BRZ probably uses different airbags than the Impreza, since they're very different cars. I don't want to make my car less safe in my quest to make it more comfortable.

I took out the stock bulbs, put in those Noyka hyperyellow ones. While there is a fair cutoff for the Noyka bulbs, there is still a lot of glare shooting upwards. I never really noticed with the stock bulb, so I replaced the one Noyka bulb with the original to do a side by side comparison. This is when I noticed my stock bulb wasn't lighting properly, and wiggling the wire made it work.

I figured it was the plug, but it turns out when I put the Noyka bulb back in, everything worked fine. So either that original bulb is broken, or the Noyka bulb somehow altered the socket to only work with Noyka bulbs.

Additionally, the stock bulb also throws a lot of light upwards and in the same pattern as the Noyka. The majority of the focused light, however, is downwards.
Time to aim them

You can swap over all those parts, if you use brz seats likely the connectors are the same, frs uses different plugs as it is a Toyota

Anyone know how to increase key range? I don't know if there's multiple types of key for this car but I have just a plain key and a few buttons, no big fob or anything. The battery isn't the problem but I struggle to get 50 foot range...

Not sure how to increase OEM key range. I installed a remote start in my car, which has lock and unlock features built into the fob and it works from 2,000 feet. I love it during the winter.

Why do you need that kind of range?

I don't like walking back and forth to lock my car. 50 feet of range is on a good day. If there's any cars in the way I have to be practically next to it for it to work...

Why don't you just lock it once leaving the car?

Not trying to be rude, but I find the range more than adequate, I can lock my car when in my house and my car is in my detached garage 75ft from my house.

Have you tried your other fob maybe one is defective?

..or replace the battery?

I agree, unless it's a remote start, I don't want to unlock my car from 2,000 feet away and someone steals my GPS while I'm walking to the car. lol

I can lock my car and hear/see it doing so inside my house incase I don't remember doing so. Good enough for me.

Hook it up to your skull! Seriously, look for some Youtube videos on it, placing it against your temple can increase car remote range. You'll look like a crazy person, unless the person watching you also knows the trick

I tried this stupid trick too. It works. On a few different makes of vehicles too. I tried to find the flaw or catch but I couldn't.

Hey guys I got approved for a '13 sport limited today, going to pick it up next week. I've been reading through some of the threads, and was curious about any common issues/upgrades you guys have that make a difference.

If I have a super large head, does that mean I'll get super long range?

I don't know if you're aware of this, but sometimes people forget such things.

You generally can solder a copper wire to the antenna of the key and extend the range significantly, however I took apart my key one day and there's no visible antenna. If there is one it's far too small to solder a wire onto. That's probably why the keys don't work past 50 feet for me.

Stock alarm went off today when opening an unlocked door. Not sure why. When exiting, I locked all doors with the lock button on the drivers door and then manually unlocked drivers door with switch by the handle. When returning to the car the horn and lights went off as if the panic button was pressed. Any ideas why this might happen?

How long was it sitting unlocked? I think after some time the alarm arms regardless of whether it's unlocked or not

Some welding/rigging required. Of course, you have modified the SRS while doing so.
Not worth it.

That's supposed to happen. When you lock the door, the car shaped red light to the lower left of the speedometer starts flashing fast for 30 seconds. Alarm is set. It will go off if you unlock the door from the inside and then open it. A la somebody trying to steal the car.

Are there any options other than an extremely expensive and time consuming HID retrofit to increase low beam headlight output? The h11s just don't do it. I need to drive at night at 55+mph regularly and sometimes there's cars coming just far enough apart that I can't use my high beams.

Edit: keeping in mind that REAL HIRs are long gone. The new generation ones probably aren't legal anyway and don't use the technology that reflects infrared to increase the filament temperature and therefore output.

Normal sylvania h9s are what I run. I think a set is like 15 shipped from amazon. Works great!

The picture I posted the other day was on those
