Why would I ever look at my manual when I could spend the time to pull out my phone write a post and wait for an answer? So much easier than going to garage , opening glove box finding page and risk dog getting outside.

For those wondering about H9 life, I am pretty sure at about 30K miles mine are about done. I pulled one tonight, the filament is looking pretty rough, and there is a lot of haze on the inside of the bulb.

on the plus side, my new Philips H9's showed up today, so I will be putting them in soon, I bought some H9 pigtails from Oreilly today, and ordered some H11 male sockets so I can just make an adapter harness, seems better than having to modify a bulb every 30K miles.

You have to dremel/file off 1 tab, that's it.

i understand that, but I plan to replace them yearly. plus if I am out on a trip somewhere and a light burns out, I want to be able to buy replacements and install them ASAP, not find a knife and do some trimming in a parking lot. ya know?

actually, if there was a bit more access to the plugs, i would just pop the pins out and put on my new ones in place, but I can't quite get in there to do it

tomorrow when I have better light I plan to look at it closer and see if I can just swap the connectors, then there won't be an extra connection to possibly build corrision over time

I used a sharp chisel to take the tab off, but good point about replacing the bulb on the go.

Someone on here offered me $40 shipped for a RSB off a 2008 WRX. How much will the rest of the parts cost (everything except the bar itself)?

Iirc that is a 18mm bar, but if you currently have none it is better than what you have now.

You still need endlinks, bushings, clamps, bolts. Go to somewhere like subarupartswarehouse.com and look at the parts diagram for a 2008wrx

If you already have a rear bar, you just need the bushings, so maybe $20?

One more question. What model year(s) is the imp with the clear weird looking tail lights? I thought it was 2013 but a lot of the ones I see look older like 2008 or something.

those except not a WRX/STi

I believe those are from the previous generation of Impreza, so they are pre-2012.

Those taillights are found on the 2008-2011 Impreza, and the 2008-current WRX/STI.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the replacement bumper skin not be painted? Wouldn't you need to have a body shop paint it for you?

Has anyone purchased any parts from

http://www.buysubarupartsnow.com/index.php?p=home

The reason I ask is because their prices are way cheaper than the dealership but is the quality part as good? I called the local body shop and they said be careful because sometimes they will sell it for super cheap but give you a part that wont fix exactly.

Even the fog surround with trim from the dealer is only 30-40? I assumed that was an online price. Nice!

Might be a dumb question but does anyone know the part # for the black part around the fog light that screws into the bumper. And yes, I did search for 120229 as the part but no luck..

You can't buy that part by itself, the entire light is 1 assembly

Has anyone found an easier way to remove the fog light surround trim to access the foglight yet than from going under the bumper? I'm replacing the bulbs again in a week or so, and would like to not have to lay on the ground again..

You can likely do it using trim removal tools, but I prefer to do it by simply reaching under the bumper and pushing on the trim piece's tabs to release the trim piece.

That's y I have a lift so I don't have to squeeze my fat head under car lol. But on a real note drive up on some bricks or lumber to get some more room to play with.
