Sorry I should have clarified. I meant a little taller tire. I'm keeping stock sizerims . Thank you for the response though. I appreciate it. Anybody else have input?
going to sound snarky, but you do have a warranty booklet that came with your car 3yrs/36k miles.

they didn't offer it to you because warranty work pays less money

Quick reference question..

What is the diameter for the stock tubing in the axleback portion? Both axle to muffler and muffler to bumper? Specifically looking for the muffler to bumper.

I am running a muffler delete currently, and am going to Moore on Thursday for my axleback. Trying to get these numbers for an associated idea.

Thanks.

Default License Plate Bracket Removal?

Forum lurker here, (pardon my ignorance, already used the Search function and Google, not the answers like looking for unfortunately) people have talked about installing license plate brackets but when I purchased my '12 Sport Premium Impreza (located in NJ), my car already had a front license plate bracket installed. I would like to uninstall it but it's not just held by two screws. Perhaps it's attached by double sided 3M tape as well? Or some type of adhesive? Any suggestions on removing it without damaging the bumper would be greatly appreciated. Last resort is asking my stealership to uninstall it for me. Thanks.

That sucks. Must be stupid people breaking into a Subaru. Doesn't exactly scream wealth. Maybe they just collect owners manuals. lol

My apologies. Here are some pics.

Behind bumper left side:
Behind bumper right side:

Like I said, I took out the screws to the bracket, but there are these rectangular tabs that can't be moved, the bracket is still sitting pretty on my car. Perhaps adhesive was used? Any help of the removal of this would be appreciated.

EDIT: Answered my own question. It was held by 3 strips of double sided 3M tape. Sprayed some Goo Gone between the bumper and bracket, let it sit for 15-20 minutes, pulled and it came off easily. Took off remaining residue with Goo Gone. Anyone who had their Imprezas with a front license plate bracket, this should be helpful if you desire to relocate your front license plate.

Does anyone know how similar out brakes are to the WRX's? Same "looking" size rotors and calipers.. Don't know about the specifics.

The reason I ask, is because you can get the Subaru "accessory" big brake kit (the red caliper ones) for the WRX for about 1/3 the cost of the STI Brembo's. Thought it may be interesting if it fits..

I think the XV has the same brakes, and I don't recall anyone ever saying the brakes are different in the XV, so I'd say probably the same...?

the only way to really know is to put them on. They might bolt up the same, but the could be a different offset compared to the rotors.

These are the ones I'm referring to:

https://www.flatironstuning.com/p-12...ke-upgrade.asp

Basically Brembo's, but at 1/3 the cost.

I had the SS t/c Brenbo's on the front of my Cobalt SS and those things kicked ass.

Just search WRX 4 pot upgrade.

Not really related to this thread but figured I'd share. The girlfriend and I just finished looking for her new car, she decided on a 2014 legacy 2.5 limited. Will hopefully post some pics of our two cars when we go to pick it up next week.

Are asymmetrical tires and directional tires mutually exclusive?

I have asymmetrical tires, does that mean I can rotate them between each side or can an asymmetrical tire be directional?

You can rotate them side to side. Directional tires are the only ones that you cannot. The kind of tires you're talking about usually have to be mounted with a specific sidewall facing out and the opposite facing in...that does not change from side to side on a vehicle.

At least you're an Impreza owner! I looked at the 2013 Legacy but just couldn't bring myself to a six cylinder for a sedan. Enjoy!

She got the 4 cylinder. I'm quite excited. It's much nicer inside than my impreza. We will be driving it from Connecticut to Florida and back this winter. Should be a great road trip car. I wanted her to get an Outback but at age 22 she refused to get an "old person car" lol
