Makes one wonder what it's going to cost to replace.
The upgrades in the hybrid are impressive, I just wish we could get them in the 2014 regular Crosstrek. I did hear that they might be coming in 2015. I don't know if i want to wait that long. The depreciation on my 2012 impreza sport would eat up the price difference.

Did anyone else put the H9 bulbs in place of the H11 in the headlights? I had mine since January, and one is out already. 10 months is all I got out of it.

what brand? i did w/in 2 weeks of owning the car. I replaced them both about 1 month ago as preventive maintenance, they had 30k miles/17 months of service. the filaments were looking really crusty, but still functional. I don't notice a lot of difference in light output from the h9's I took out.

the ones i originally used were Osram, this time I tried philips. they are both made in germany. just standard H9, nothing special

did the fun switch (vdc diable) today. i used this instead of cutting ring connectors to plug into the fuse location.
GTC CT6100 Fuse Socket Connector Kit : Amazon.com : AutomotiveGTC CT6100 Fuse Socket Connector Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive

you can kill vdc when the car is on, just can't reenable until after shutdown, which is ok with me. it really does work, and abs is definitely disabled, so need to be carefull with that aspect.

These Philips from Amazon
Amazon.com: Philips H9 Standard Headlight Bulb, Pack of 1: AutomotiveAmazon.com: Philips H9 Standard Headlight Bulb, Pack of 1: Automotive

The other bulb looks okay, just the one burned out. The filament has a big gap in it. Luckily they are so bright that it took me a minute to notice it was out. The one bulb covered a pretty good area.

I saved my original bulbs and put both of those back in until a new set arrives.

FlyBoy, would you happen to have the DIY link you used handy? Was looking for it the other day.. With winter quickly approaching, I'd love to use this so my car lets me go sideways this year.

Flyboy, which fuse are you intercepting? Does it bring your redline down?

Also, you guys may want to have a look here before going sideways: http://www.autoscience.com/subaru/subaru-transmissions

the 7.5amp in the fuse box area. from what I could see only things affected are
1. VDC disabled
2. ABS disabled
3. Hill Assist disabled

I just replaced mine with the same H9's yesterday but I ordered through Home Depot for $6.97 each. I hope they last longer than 10 months.

Yup, same ones. The factory bulbs are Philips too. I'm thinking foghelmut just got a bad one.

For anyone running the Flapatax mud flaps, question:

The site lists the flaps under 12+ Impreza without aero. Do they simply mean without the extra accessory aero mud flaps? Just trying to make sure I'm still good with my Sport side-skirts..

I have a sport, they fit fine with the side skirts there.

Word. I'm gonna order them this weekend and try them out. Too good of a price. I can always get Rally Armors later if they're not up to par..

Plasti-dipped my winter rims yesterday with blue+blue metalizer. Really like the look, all though I think the PD got ruined somewhat from the rain we got on Sunday, as its starting to peel by the mount holes. Nonetheless, here are the pics:

Love the color! I would have to put it in Photoshop to see if a slightly darker blue might work even better. It may get too close to the grey color though much darker.

I would actually prefer it to be a little lighter - I think a darker blue like a navy wouldn't look as good. On a side note, my winter tires are a LOT quieter than the stupid stock Yokos

Ha! I had the same thoughts. I thought, well I guess I'll have to deal with the road noise when I put the winters on, once I put them on though, they were pretty much the same as the yokos in town, and the winters were even quieter than the stocks on the highway.

I'm on my snows now and feel the same way. It's been about 9 months since I had the stocks on.. But those were some terrible tires.

Exactly how mine is, Kinger. Nice!

Did you use those amber LED's for the fogs from online with that little glass bubble looking top?
