Default Tuning Info Please

I'm looking to learn how to tune for a hobby. And to also tune my own car. I went to see my local tuner and neither his ECUFlash or ROMRaider has definitions for my car. Well, he isn't a tuner, he was just going to pull my stock map off my car and send it out to a tuner to tweak it. Is there any maps out for the 2010 N/As? Also can someone tell me what I need in order to tune my own car. (Hardware, Software, Etc.) Thanks all!

I talked to a guy here in seattle that does really good work for subies and evos. He said there is no map out for 2010.

He told me the same thing, that I could bring him my car and he could try and work on a custom tune, but there's nothing he can just plug in and load.

Tactrix Cable, laptop.
I believe that Cobb/Rallitek have the only maps for the newest N/A cars.
I'll wait for williaty to chime in, since he tunes the N/A cars.

Would that work the same as the Tactrix cable? Its a ODB-II USB. And what software do a grab? Or that is recommended for subies? So far I have only heard names, ECUFlash and ROMRaider.

check out www.romraider.com for software to use for editing ecu images and data logging. There is also a forum for tech questions and research. Read all the new comer forum rules and don't pass up a search. All the basic questions have been answered previously. www.tactrix.com for hardware and openecu.org for another good forum on tuning and the software side of it especially. EcuFlash is an opensource program that can edit rom images and flash at least the 05-07 N/A ecu's, probably more.

for the 2010 you will need the tactrix 2.0 or newer cable

I don't think the VAG-COM will work with a CAN bus link between the laptop and the ecu on the 2010 Subarus.

Are there even definitions for the 2010 2.5i available from either the open source team or for the AP?

Thank you. And I apologize for being lazy and not searching first. I just didn't want to read anymore, I read over a 100 pages for N/A Mods and the hybrid intake lol. I thank you all for the answers. I'm done asking newbie questions now. How do I post pics on here?
