Default V-7 EJ207 into 05 STi?

I have in my possession an 05 STi, and a V-7 EJ207 with the ecu and entire harness to include the body harness. I want to make those two friends using the 05 STi ecu, is this do-able? I know an aftermarket EMS would work just dandy, but due to the wonderfulness that is OBD-II emissions this is just not a possibility for my car.

very confusing, do you want to use the V7 ecu or the 05 STi ecu?

05. Looking to use the USDM ECU, intake manifold, injectors and harness, JDM everything else.

After talking with my tuner apparently it's a relatively straightforward affair. Just need to change the cams and tune for the 2.0l motor.

Anything is possible with time and money. Ultimately, what is your goal? I'd swap the EJ207 into a GC/GF and do a 2.34L long rod with your current EJ257(sounds like you want high RPM power band). You will also have to convert the V7 intake manifold to DBW and I'm not sure if the AVCS wiring will be the same.

From what my tuner is saying I just need to use my current intake manifold, injectors and harness. My goal is to drive an EJ207 again. I have no desire to build an engine right now if I don't have to. But if I were going to do so, the MP 2.3l is the way I'd want to go.

I'm sure that you resolved what you set out to do, by now.

I just wanted to comment that for the future, the best way may turn out to be to swap a V10 EJ207, for USDM Sti owners.

I did not find yet any documented swaps, but the V10 is throttle by wire and seems to be a very strong shortblock, different casting than the previous 207.

For GR series owners, this V10 is dual AVCS. Now, if the past is to be any guide for the current situation, AVCS capabillities with JDM hardware, may turn out to be different than USDM

What this means is: The USDM exhaust AVCS was somewhat dissapointing, when people went to tune it trying to extract more power.

JDM exhaust AVCS may be much more capable, just as JDM intake AVCS.

Also, the V10 EJ207 can only be Spec C.

This is only speculation, but maybe an USDM GR series ECU could be made to control the GR 207, without too much trouble?

easiest way is take off the cam sensors, solenoids and cams and swap over USDM parts...this way the ECU doesn't know the difference...

by retaining the usdm cams and sensors, the ecu doesn't know the change as it'll receive the same signal type. The solenoids I'm not 100% sure if the swap is necessary as I've seen it written either way.

do you still have the jdm bits btw? I'd be interested in them and the ecu if you have it. I've been looking to run usdm avcs heads with jdm parts on my newly picked up bugeye

Anyway to get this to work running the JDM ecu? I got a V7 in my GC, but the age of the body is really starting to get to me and I was looking at alot of STI shells to transplant my motor into. Would you have to change out the entire bulkhead? The dash swap in my GC has kinda turned me off from doing that again lol.
