Default Why didn't Subaru do this: Dodge AWD commercial

So I just saw this video of the new Dodge AWD commercial making fun of how people react to snow storms.

Subaru should of made this commercial years ago.

I think I really like those redesigned taillights on the Charger.

I live that commercial for Subaru.

And people wonder why I want my next coupe to have AWD...

How the hell does DODGE, of all brands, get the drop on this, while Subaru waffles on about a RWD coupe?

I am going to be really pissed if the Challenger gets AWD ported over from Charger, or Dodge builds a smaller AWD coupe, before Subaru builds an AWD coupe.

BTW, the Journey awd is available with the new Pentastar V6 which is packing more punch than the Subie H6 and the turbo 4cylinder.

If it didn't look like a Dodge, then we'd be onto something special.

Doesn't matter how cool they look or how clever the idea behind them is, Dodge is still a UAW built chrysler product...

edit: i agree, it is a funny commercial

And pretty accurate too in this day and age, at least with the majority of MD drivers haha.

This is hilarious coming from a Subaru owner

I'm just wondering how they got a FWD Accord's rear tires to spin.

We have enough fanboys already, we don't need commercials like that. The Subaru commercial would be a bunch of crashed WRXes on summer tires in the snow because AWD > *.

Great commercial! How good is their AWD system though, especially in the Charger? I gotta think that's not exactly a "go anywhere" machine like a Forester or Outback, but who knows...

The same as Mercedes-Benz's excellent 4Matic.

If regular RWD Charger sucks because it's already heavy, underpowered boat, how much will even heavier AWD Charger suck?

Heavy will sink through snow to get to road for traction, but it has more inertia so it will slide easier.

Weight will help you get going, lightness will help turn and stop. Gimmie lightness.

I like the commercial, and I like the direction Chrysler is trying to go, but I still don't feel confident in Chrysler products. The cars they build still don't appeal to me either.

The older Charger AWD had the same full-time system as Mercedes 4Matic.
"The second generation of 4Matic used a full time 4 wheel drive system with three open differentials front, centre and rear. Traction control is achieved using ETS (Electronic Traction System). This employs the ABS system with additional valves to monitor and then partially brake any wheel which loses traction." [wiki]

"The 2009[-2011] Charger AWD utilized the Torque-on-Demand system manufactured by Borg Warner which disconnects the front axles until extra traction is needed." [wiki]

See above. However, both are pretty sub-par systems.

Has anybody seen the dodge commercial about the charger that talks about robots ruling the world?

Any clip of a great engine storming through a tunnel, is pure WIN

I love it.

Dodge is really tapping into the Male 18-50 demographic. We've all seen Terminator, Matrix, etc and none of us want to give up control of these beasts to a computer.

yeah, they are using the testosterone targeting technique that appeals to every red blooded Merican. HAHA. Still, I find myself loving them as well, so I guess I still have some double wide trailer left in me yet!

C/D/J commericals have gotten better, hopefully their cars will too. I like the Jeep one about driving in the snow as well. The new Cherokee looks pretty sweet, well for an SUV.

Just another example of how widespread AWD is becoming. Not exactly a selling point to stake your company's future on.

Here in Southern California, they should make a commercial like that but with rain instead.
