It's just funny because it was on for a very long time when the car was about a year old. Finally I found out it was due to a bad fuel injector. Anyhoo, I just thought it was funny that it came on again.

Last night I put a 1/2 tank of fuel in and a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner in and it seemed to run better. Today I went to the dealership to pick up a new spark plug wire as one of them had a slight tear in it, a new fuel filter and a new lower ball joint for the front drivers wheel. The CEL was on all day until I climbed back in the car at the dealership, set the new parts in the seat and started it up. The light went out! lol.... I guess she just wanted some new parts. Then again, maybe my gas cap wasn't tight.

Check for carbon buildup on your coil to plug wire connection - possible indication that your coil itself is going, especially if you're getting a "misfire" code on one or more cylinders. Happened to me and when I started to troubleshoot the misfire codes, I came across the carbon buildup on both the coil and plug wires. Dremeled them clean and, after clearing the codes, test ran it again, still CEL. Swapped in my other 98 GT Coil and wires, cleared codes, no CEL. Case solved.

Yeah, I've replaced that not to long ago, and it looked ok when I checked yesterday. I think I got some bad gas, because it runs great now.
