BTW you can have all the creature comforts from AC, heat, touch screen GPS/surround sound, smooth ride, leather seats/steering wheel, etc etc. You just need to pay more for it. Hell if high performance is not a big deal, you can go get an older 2.5rs or forester for dirt cheap and use the rest of the money on creature comforts. As the old saying goes "pick 2, fast, luxury(or reliable in the super high performance case) or cheap." |

I'm not seeing much of a problem here, the donor car already has AC, it's just a question of fitting the parts. I understand that could be tough if they didn't consider it during development. Power windows are lighter than crank, Lotus proved that in the Elise. The parts for power already exist, the hard part is going to be designing the glass and the top.

Frank, I think you hit the nail on the head with NHTA for just making your own windows.
As for the rest of the thread; are people really still crying, fussing and bitching about this thing?!! |

**THESE ARE NOT NEW OFFICIAL PICS, just my photoshopped ones**
I was interested to see what the 818 might look like with a windshield and other road-car-spec things... I was also interested in creating a custom front end that I'd like to do: Road version: Race version: Mike |

Vehicle:2001 Legacy GT back to stock is a project too |
They had many great designs and they literally chose the worst one IMO(their own naturally), that front end is about the worst you could do.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the styling so far. Could just be the red gel-coat doing it, maybe once I see one with an actual paint job in something like silver.

Good grief, that thing looks huge with a driver in it! Maybe it's just the camera / lens / angle, but damn! And what's the deal with the front overhang? I though this was a rear engined car

I've been confused by the front overhang all along. Curious to see underneath, I'm sure they didn't extend it for aesthetics.

It's not nearly as big as that shot makes look. The Roadster that was sitting next to it dwarfed it.

That guy must be tiny then cause the hood/trunk/boot looks about 5' long lol.
But i guess with no windshield maybe its just longer due to it also covering half of what would normally be a dashboard? |

He is also sitting just about an inch off the floor.

I don't think front overhang matters for rear engined cars as much. Lots of mid and rear engine cars have long front overhangs.

So how tall is the guy in the picture? He looks to be maybe 3" under the top of the bar, with a helmet that puts him pretty close to the minimum required distance to pass a broomstick test. If the seat is sitting on the floor that's more headroom than a complete car would have.

I think Jason is over 6'2". I haven't met him personally so I am not sure. Trying to find out. There is more than 3" of clearance though.
