Default How do I adjust the handbrake

you got to remove the console cover in the car. You will see the parking brake cables coming through the floor. There is an adjustment shaft with two nuts on it. break them apart using box-end wrneches. Adjust the adjusting nut (it will be obvious which one this is) until you get an eight or nine click fully engaged brake. Retighten the secind nut down on the first. If you cant achieve a fully engaged brake after nine clicks at full adjustment, your parking brake cables may be stretched and need replacement.

Alternatively, if you are at 8-9 clicks fully lifted, and your cables aren't stretched, then your e-brake shoes could be shot (i.e, driving with the e-brake in the "on" position will cause premature wear of your shoes and hot spots on your e-brake drum which leads to glazing. That leads to smooth contact surfaces mating and that's not what you want in your e-brake system.
