Default Heat shield fabrication

I've got a 2004 Impreza 2.5TS. I put a set of UEL headers on it several years ago, and in the intervening time from then to now, I've managed to melt the driver side steering rack boot twice. I know why the boot melts, it's due to the three header pipes that run directly underneath it. What I don't know how to do is make a heat shield to prevent the boot from melting again.

I know I could probably get some header wrap and try and wrap the headers, but I can't have my car undrivable for as long as that would take, and I'm unable to do exhaust work in my apartment building's parking lot. If anyone could give me some advice on how to make a heat shield, or could direct me to a shop in northern Virginia that could fabricate one for me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

you could make something with a brake. should be pretty easy to find a mount to bracket up. i would think the hose clamps wont rattle over time. or break if the pipe hit something. you wouldn't know it was gone

Thanks for the replies. I'll see about making a heat shield for myself sometime in the next couple of days.

I have used an old soup can as a heatshield...cut with snips, spray it with some bbq grill paint and some clamps and its all good
