Default PLEASE Help...AEM Oil Pressure Gauge Install

Guys im having a hell of a time figuring out this oil pressure gauge install. I removed the gally plug under the TMIC and the sending unit AEM sends does not fit....So...I picked up the OEM subaru galley plug that tapers to the 1/8....no luck. Seems like it is standard to metic and the threading is not coming together. How are you guys doing this?? Please help..pics below.

The AEM Oil Pressure sender has 1/8NPT threading. The OEM Subaru galley plug has 1/8PT (aka BSPT). Basically the AEM part has US threading, and the galley plug has metric threading. You will need an adapter like this:

This is probably also better posted in the technical area than the general area.

Just a friendly FYI.

Can't change the threading of the sender. They're too close in size.

Your other option would be to drill out and tap the galley plug. You might have to get one that's not already drilled out in order to have enough metal to work with.

The OEM plug at that hole doesn't have any threading, does it? You will still need the galley plug you bought with the 1/8PT hole. You will install that, then install the adapter, then install the sender. Hopefully there is enough room. If it looks like it's going to be a tight fit, you might want to look into something like this:

That one sounds like you will still need the galley plug you bought, and the adapter I linked before. The extended hose would just move the sender out from under the TMIC. Here is another option:

http://prosportgauges.com/remote-oil...ation-kit.aspx

That one comes with the OEM galley plug, so you could return the one you have. I also believe it would have the right threading to work with the galley plug, so you wouldn't need to buy the adapter either.

Thanks for your help. I run a fmic so there should be no clearance issues with both of those in the location correct. I just ordered the one from amazon.
