2.5i???

Default sohc valve sizes

i have an 07 2.5i. and i bent a few valves from a bad timing belt tensioner bolt...

anyways, i was wonderin what the valves specs are, because i figured while i am replacing them i might as well put in some aftermarket valves... i was looking at the supertech +1mm valves...

but i cant figure out what the sizes are for my stock valves to see if they will fit or not.

to answer my own question incase someone else is looking for aftermarket valves sometime. i found them... supertech makes them. it is part number
SIVN-1015 for the +1mm intake
SEVN-1015 for the +1mm exhaust
SIVN-1016 for the standard size intake
SEVN-1016 for the standard size exhaust

Unless you intend to run race cams in the car, P&Ped heads, full exhaust, and possibly a modified intake manifold, there's little point to the plus sized valves. These heads flow really well and very appropriately for the stock configuration, and there is no purpose to oversize the valves simply to oversize the valves.

Doesn't one need to oversize the seats also? If so then it would be silly to not mildly p&p.

So why are you sweating the valve size details? Whoever is doing the angle job and cutting the seats should be able to replace the guides also. Length shouldn't be an issue if you get valves for that engine.

i was wondering what the specs were because i was having a hard time finding the ones for the sohc heads. so i was going to see if the specs were the same as the wrx or sti valves, and just order a set of those.
but good ole supertech saved the day, and responded to my email almost instantly with part numbers.

it was completely irrelevant to my original question. but then people started coming in telling me how it would be pointless to put over sized valves on a stock 2.5i lol.

What a silly assumption to make. It's not like you came to the normally aspirated forum, asking questions about the valves in a normally aspirated engine.

Oh wai...

last time i checked this wasn't the normally aspirated forum for only stock subarus... i came here because my heads are from a naturally aspirated car...and the question i asked had nothing to do with weather or not my car has a turbo.
