Default Oil smoke on startup

Just noticed this today. I know for 100% sure my HG is on the way out on my 06 2.5i. Almost 107k on the ODO. I wanted to do HG in spring time along with timing belt, tensioners, regrind cams and oil pickup.

BUT! now the smoking on startup has me wondering. Could it be back valve guides? or worn rings from 107k miles of beatings. I used it very hard for 3 years. Working out of my car. Starting it 7-10 times a day and 100+ miles a day.

Any help would be appreciated!

Mark

i had some issues a month ago and thought it was the hg but ended up being the camshaft and crankshaft seals.

Seems like it would make more sense for the smoke to occur while the engine is running (oil under pressure) than just on start up if it was HG.
