Just get the 2011 or buy one already swapped.

the only reason im still leaning to the 2011 is the warenty and the longevity is going to be much better on it but for sleeper factor i want to do this plus good feeling to say "i bulit this" and already swaped is a option

Set aside at least $15k+ to do it right then. Turbo RSs are hardly sleeper anymore.

Ask yourself one question: Do you want a car you can turn the key and go or do you want a car that will require an endless amount of researching, tinkering, fabricating, buying parts for and modifying to even be able to leave the garage. Option 2 is perfect valid way to go... but they are very different paths.

unless u really have a hard on for a v1-6 looking turbo, an OEM factory turbo car from the past 5 years has a far superior fit and finish. If it's ur dream car, then continue to chase it.

i say do the swap. its fun. most stuff should be plug and play besides for wiring. and ya u would be swapping the whole hub. im finishing up my 05 wrx everything into 97 obs. everything just fits right up. but i had a entire wrecked wrx so i had every part needed and swapped over every part including dashboard and all.

Go for the swap. I'm working on saving up some cash to do some work on my '01 2.5RS, and I was already thinking of doing this type of engine & tranny swap rather than building up the motor. It would be pretty rad to see how it goes.

Search is your friend....
And you might want to head over to rs25.com. Lots of swaps over there... |
