So I thought that I would give a quick review of my CF type V lip.
Shipping - Fast

Fitment - Spot on.
Install - You could drill as many holes as you would like. It matches up to the two pop outs near the ends of the wheel well. It also matches up to two other holes near the center of the bumper. After that, it is up to you on where you would like to drill holes. I drilled only one for a quick install, and that was in the center. I am going to drill two more later on the same spot as the pop out attachments. This is my second CF lip (previously had one on my 06 WRX) that I bought from Ravspec. Super happy and you can't go wrong.

Now. Here is how it looks.

It only mounts up to a couple factory holes. It is sturdy without drilling but I wanted that puppy on there.

Question

My research on the subject is not getting me the answer, so I'll risk "use the search function" responses. I'm interested in a V-limited style lip, and debating the Subaru OEM/JDM part vs this RavSpec carbon fiber part.

Can anyone comment (constructive) on relative strength/durability of this CF part versus the Subaru part? I understand that CF strength to weight is high, and that a CF part strength along any axis is dependant on how the carbon fibers are aligned, overall design, etc.

In other words, is one significantly tougher than the other, or is strength a wash for a part like this?

the OEM subaru one is plastic, it will flex and scratch but not crack, it can take more abuse.

this c/f one is fiberglass wrapped in real carbon, it does not flex and will scratch and crack, it takes less abuse

but looks oh so good, that is why I ordered one.

vr lip still in development....

ravspec said V and VR late april, he delivered on the V, so he didn't lie.

I am still waiting on the VR #1 on the list, but I don't mind waiting if the fitment is going to be immaculate.

I had bad tires and i was going a little to fast in rain... If anything should happen down the road ill just have it fixed and painted black.. But if your carefull you shouldnt have any problems..plus carbon just looks HOT!!!

I would love to see a lip delivered, but my wife will kill me if another box shows up unexpectedly.

I've had rear fog lights, di-noc, weds wheels, 6 piston brakes, sways, and a downpipe all *magically* appear in front of the house.
