Default Wiesmann Spyder Concept Set For Geneva Debut

Quote:
German sportscar maker Wisemann announced today that they will unveil a new Spyder concept model at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Based on the feedback from visitors and experts they will decide if they should make it or not.
If they eventually decided to go for it, it’ll be beyond 2012. The idea of a spyder Wiesmann is certainly interesting, of course we should wait and see how this thing looks. There’s no further details available right now, but with the Geneva Show around the corner the wait won’t be that long. So stay tuned!
Press Release:
From March 1st until 13th Wiesmann will be at Geneva Motor Show. The German sports car manufacturer presents its whole array of handcrafted sports cars at booth 1243. As a highlight the design study of Wiesmann Spyder will appear first in the automobiles world. The Spyder is an extremely downsized variation which has only one motivation: to provide a maximum of driving enjoyment.
Powerful, ultra-light and purist, the Wiesmann Spyder is the essence of Wiesmann’s philosophy. The two seater is the most extreme Wiesmann ever built and introduces itself without doors or even a windscreen. In Geneve there will be a design study presented, which needs to undergo the judgement of the experts. General Manager of the manufactory Friedhelm Wiesmann says: “We want to test the marketability of such cars in Geneve”, and he goes on: “The feedback of customers, partners and experts has high influence on the consideration of advancing the Spyder model.” Wiesmann has not yet decided whether to put the Spyder into production. If it does go into production, this won’t be before 2012.

That is a nice looking car.

But there is a couple of modifications that would make it even better.

1: meld the fender flares into the fenders more gradually

2: put Mini headlights and LED-type markers and turn signals in the front fenders.

3: lessen the number of tail lights in the rear fenders.

4: in general, make it closer to the C-type and Austin Healy 100/3000 that it clearly takes inspiration from.
