Default Cobb Worth the Money??

I see posts for the injen and AEM and others all the time but I can't really find the info I'm looking for on the Cobb Intake. They say at www.cobbtuning.com that it won't suck up water any worse than stock, but I'm so parinoid about that happening to me. I live in Colorado so there's not much rain but when it does rain here we get flash floods and the like. if it's raining and I'm on I-25 or any other highway, there is so much spray from the wheels that I fear a wheelwell intake will get soaked. Also anyone know how the Cobb is affected by heat soak from that beuatiful aluminum piping? do they sell a heat sheild? do i need one? Since my 02 doesn't have a scoop I can't do a throttle body intake and I think that a ram air would just suck up hot engine bay air. Thinkin the Cobb is the way to go just scared of the location. Thanks

i have theri intake and from my experience so far, i love it. the only company right now taht is going to have their parts in my car is cobb, the intake sounds great and u will feel a difference. as far as worrying about water, dont i have driven my car through ~1 1/2ft deep water and nothing happened, hell i turned around and drove through it again, mainly because my friend asked me to do it. im soon going to buy the headers and such from them so ill post about my experience on taht as well.

I would love it if you did post on Cobb Parts as you get them. After thinking about a turbo I decided I wanted to be different and take a different route. Now I think I'm gonna go all motor if I can. Cobb parts seem to me to be the most thought out well designed peices for an NA engine, epecially if you really can bump you RPM's to 8000!!. But yes I would love more info as you get it, alas I am a poor college student So I'll be spending my money only after thurough investigation. Thanks.

I'd suggest taking a look at the "sticky" thread at the top of this forum...there is some good intake info up there...
