Hey...I got mine too.
Just a little confused on where the fuel regulater hose is on our cars...also where to put the hose that supposedly hooks up to the intake manifold?

Thanks

i have a few tips for you.
-take the heat shield above the muffler off, you need to do this because you have to drill through the trunk floor to bolt the bottle brackets
-take out the back seat and find a hole to run the nitrous line to the outside of the car
-make sure nothing rubs on the nitrous line

a bottle guage and plurge kit would be helpful too.

goodluck and be safe

Does a purge kit really make that much of a differnce...how often do you get a bad shot if yu don't purge?
Sorry so many questions i just want to do this one right.

purge kit makes no difference really. some people purge to clear the air out of the lines. i use a purge for releasing the pressure out of the lines after the nitrous is turned off. better for the solenoids i guess.

Default My Install

My car is a wagon. I mounted the bottle on a piece of plywood inside the spare tire well under the cargo area. There is room for two bottles. I used the spare tire bolt to hold it down. I wired tied the line just outside the heat shield "tunnel" around the exhaust/driveline. I removed all stock intake parts. I fabricated an ABS pipe intake that I tapped for the nozzle install. The stock air box is retained. I mounted the ZEX box on a piece of aluminum bar stock bolted to the passenger side strut housing where some intake parts used to mount. I was concerned about N2O imbalance with the bleed vacuum going straight into one cylinder at the stock FPR vacuum barb. So, I put the carbon canister vacuum there and moved the FPR vac line to the barb on top of the manifold. I put the arming switch and A/F gauge in the change compartment low and left on the dash. It closes nicely. I spun my stock clutch a little with the 0.032 ZEX jet so I got a NOS 0.028. I had to drill out the ZEX nozzle to accept it. I think I went to a 0.038 ZEX FPR jet. Fuel pressure boosts to 60 psi on juice. Now I get a nice kick and the clutch holds. High green on the A/F. No audible ping on 92 octane. I like it. A lot.

this is a pic of my kit hooked up to my regular and manifold. the red tube is my intake, it runs in the stock intake location to the passenger side fender. the intake runner in the picture is the runner that is backmost one on the passenger side. the blue line i drew is where the stock hose goes... remove it. one red circle is around the regulator, and the other is around the fitting on the manifold the stock hose is attached to. run a hose from the fitting on the manifold to the "intake" fitting on the zex box, and another hose from the fitting on the regulator to the other fitting on the zex box. make sure to use hose clamps to keep them on. there, thats all there is to it. does that help?

I have the bottle warmer and a bottle pressure guage with the kit. I got all the parts off of ebay for about 590 total.

Not bad.

I'm going to put it on right now, so I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Help,
The oem vacuum lines from the FPR and the manifold both run to this contraption on the passenger side fender wall. If i hook up the ZEX box to those points it leaves no line running to this in the pic....What do i do just leave it with no hoses running to it?
Please let me know..Its on a MY99RS.

-Terry
Thanks

Default What's This

There was a thread on this item somewhere recently. It was a "Who's the smartest" or "What's this" kind of thing. I think that gizmo turned out to be a EGR filter or something. I don't know '99s but I think I would hook that thing in somewhere else and then isolate the FPR & ZEX connections. On my 01 there is a plugged tap on the mainfold right next to the FPR connection. The plug was a bugger to get out and then get the right metric threaded barb, but the Soob dealership gave me a fuel fitting barb (I think) that worked. Maybe you could get one of those going and connect the filter whatever it is to that vacuum source and then put the ZEX box on the FPR. Or, maybe put the ZEX box regulator line on the FPR and T the filter thing in with the other ZEX box "intake" line. If it was OK to have T'd before, it should be OK afterwards too. Now add disclaimer. It would be good to check all your plugs after running the nitrous awhile to see that things are burning nice and evenly.

Default Second Look

After taking a second look at your picture, it appears that the other vacuum tap location I mentioned is occupied on '99s. On my 01 it was/is plugged.

Thanks...I'll mess around and see what happens,
I've got a good general idea mixed with a working knowledge of the car so i'm sure i'll get it right.
Thanks for all your help, If you can think of anything else that might help...let me know.

Thanks again everyone.
