Default I have a 92 93 94 Subaru factory service manual

I own a 1990 but the deal I got on the manual was too good to pass up. It was used by a subaru technician so the book is filled with all these "check service bulletin xxxx" stickers.

Anyone need any info Id be glad to help. I just wish I could find one for my specific year.

9 books in total anout 6 inches tall.

I have the full set for the '90. Looking for most of the '92+ set.

My 93 Legacy's battery was drained last night while driving. There was no CHARGE warning light before and after it happened, all lights just switch off all of a sudden, no warning. Why is that? My battery was recently replaced too.

From what I can tell I have all of them, I cant imagine any more

1992 service manual supplement: ABS 2E
1993 service manual supplement: Right hand drive
1993 service manual supplement: MSA5T9301A
1994 service manual supplement: MSA5T9306A
1992 service manual sections 1-6
1992 Owners manual

They are in great shape. No oil fingers inside that I have seen. They are worn but no pages losse or torn/folded.

A quick look shows I have:

1990 Service Manuals: Volumes 1,2,3,4,5
1992 Service Manuals: Volumes 2 and 3

I thought I had volume 6 for the 1990 as well (There are 6 total) completeing the set, but I can't find it at this time.

I also have some Impreza manuals somewhere.

I also have all the parts number microfiche sets for Impreza, Legacy, Forester, and SVX, all up to 2001 accept the 90-94 set for the Legacy.

Damn......I'd buy that parts microfiche from ya if you had it for the 90 legacy.

I'd buy whatever 92 and 93 stuff you wanna sell. I need to look deeper into the electronics and see if i'm missing anything from my transmission swap.

Also, disconnecting my battery doesn't reset the ECU, even after 3-40 minutes and having the brake pedal depressed. Wierd.

To complicate things, i can't even find the black CEL diagnosis connectors, but i have located the green ones. I'm going to hunt under there a bit more, but i'm baffled. The only way i've ever had it reset successfully is with a SelectMonitor. Wish i could find one on eBay or something.

At some point I will scan them all and place them on a CD. Then do a group buy on them (to avoid one person buying one, copying it, and giving it out or selling it) after all, it will take a lot of work to get them all scanned and organized.

DLC: I dont really want to sell them, Ive been wanting a set for a long time and subaru's stance really sucks. With toyota you can call them up directly and order any manual for about 20-60 dollars. I had the FSM for my supra sent directly to me.

I wouldnt mind to let you borrow it if traskw and I dont work something out.

Would it even be possible to copy these somehow? Does a place exist that would take these and turn them into a PDF?

In this case Im totally willing to technically "steal" subaru's property.

Traskw: What does volume 6 cover? Do you want to keep the manuals you have?

edit: crazy, I guess someone IS going to copy these!

Traskw: if you scan the 90 legacy version maybe we could work something out and I can give you the manuals I have for a low price.

Dave,

Since yours was an auto, you probably still have the TCU in there. My connectors were hiding behind that. It's held in place by two 10mm nuts.

These pics show the TCU.....I mislabeled when I made the pics and called it the ECU.

How do you know the ECU has never reset? Have you left the battery disconnected overnight?

ciper, you could take them to kinkos and have them scan them in.....or just scan them in yourself, then convert to pdf. I've got Adobe Acrobat.

I'm in the process of scanning in my owner's manual for a guy in Australia. Talk about tedious. Once I get done with all the scans I'll have to rotate all the images 90 degrees so they are upright....I'm hopin I can do a batch process. I'm scanning two pages with one scan, so that does help a tad.

Note, Jpeg files are smaller then pdf files.

Volume 6 for the 1990 FSM's is a supplement, I'd say the majority of it covers A/C/climate control stuff. There's a couple other things, but the majority is what I just mentioned.

Unhappy

Dave, I had the same problem finding the connectors on my '93 wagon. I posted on the LegacyWorks list and finally found them. They were a bitch to find and connect/disconnect. If you're laying on your back looking up at all the wiring they're on the left side of the TCU. Mine were up there a ways which made them extremely difficult to locate. They're pretty close to the center console.

I think i might have talked someone into letting me scan his 93 FSM in, it's already been broken up and put in a binder.

I have access to a nice HP 9100C scanner that will scan in with an automatic document feeder, to a PDF, then send it directly to a computer where i can manipulate the PDF files. Very handy.

As for the TCU, i took it out a long time ago, it's not needed at all for the car to run with the 5MT. I guess i'll have to dig around up in there and see if i can find them.

I haven't left the car unplugged overnight, but 30-45 minutes unplugged and the brake pedal depressed should do it. Last time i had the ECU reset, it went without a CEL for over a month, and now i think i got a knock again, probably just a fluke reading, but it really makes the car much slower.

I'd like to get a setup like Larry in Legacyworks did, but i'm not that proficient with wiring to do that!

What'd larry do?

You may want to take a read at this thread. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=213261 I'm goin to do this to my car....hopefully this week

I just changed the oil, and I can tell a difference in how the car drives....it is less peppy due to the extra noise the knock sensor heard when I initially started the car....and the oil pressure needed to build back up.

I'll let ya know how it works out.

I only plan on scanning the parts lists, not the manuals. The parts lists come in handy when ordering from people who do not know what they are doing.

My manuals are in very good condition, I would trade 1990 volumes 1-5 for 92 volumes 1,4,5, 6 +

1993 service manual supplement: MSA5T9301A
1994 service manual supplement: MSA5T9306A

I could possibly be willing to sell my set of factory service manuals for the 1992-1993 Subaru Legacy. There are 5 books. The first 4 are on the 1992 and then the 5th book is the 1993 supplement manual. I payed $120 for them. THey are in perfect condition. Let me know if any of you are interested. I don't need them cause i'm trying to get rid of my Legacy Turbo.

If someone has a FSM or wiring diagram for a 95 legacy I'd be willing to pay a small fee for a copy or scan/PDF it for you. Need for my car, not interested in making a cheap buck.
