Default P0500 code on '08 Subaru Tribeca

So my fathers Tribeca has gotten another CEL and i believe it's another p0500 code. Thats what the dealership stated on the service record for the first time and blamed it on the Snow and Ice. Car is on extended warranty now and we got charged diagnosis fee. Wasn't reimbursed. They said it was the sensor.

My father said he was driving on the highway normally, no ice or no snow and it came on again, the next day went off, and the day after that it came back on....no snow or ice contact.....

Anybody have any suggestions? I got a feeling we got ripped off the first time and each consecutive time we go back they will try and blame it on the same thing.

You can't play Carnac and believe what the code is, go get it pulled. autozone does it for free, or buy your own scanner for less than the cost of a dealer diagnosis.
