Default Koenigsegg Agera R video and pictures

Quote:
http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/26..._pictures.html

The new Koenigsegg Agera R is bound to be one of the main stars of the 2011 Geneva motor show.

Boasting 1115bhp, thanks to a revised version of the Agera 5-litre V8 engine (capable of running on bio-fuel), the Agera R will be the most powerful Koenigsegg ever produced. No performance claims are yet being made but it’s bound to be incredible thanks to a power to weight ratio dramatically better than the Bugatti Veyron. That’s thanks to the Agera R’s remarkable 1330kg dry-weight, over half a ton lighter than the big Bug.

The Agera R displayed at Geneva is a very special customer car, set to be delivered to its new Norwegian owner straight after the show closes. It comes equipped with a special roof section featuring an integrated Thule carbonfibre ski-box containing two pairs of Koenigsegg skis. This £17,593 roof-box can be easily swapped for a conventional roof section when not required and has a top speed rating of 186mph. Winter wheels and tyres are another £7322 option…

The price of the optional ‘R’ package, on top of a normal £875,000 Agera, is £132,000 at current exchange rates but that looks like something of a bargain compared to the £168,000 Koenigsegg charges for creating a bare carbon car.

evo visited the Koenigsegg factory a few weeks ago and there will be a special feature on the Agera R, together with an interview with Christian Koenigsegg, in Issue 155, on sale Wednesday March 2.

If I am at my local ski-hill in Norway with my Subaru (or whatever other normal car is in the parking lots at Norwegian ski hills) and a guy pulls up in a Koenisegg with a ski-box on the roof - I dont know if I am thinking - SUPERCOOL or SUPER DOUCHE-BAG?

What reason would you have to automatically think negatively about someone based solely on the car they were driving, before even getting a first impression of the person directly?

Doesn't that seem like more of a value judgement about you, rather than about who you are talking about?

If the driver is driving erratically, inconsiderately, or gets out of the car and acts that way, I can understand developing an opinion based on action.

Dont try to tell me you havent judged a person by their car/house/clothes/haircut/ect...before; because if you do, sorry - I suspect you are lying.

You may or may not believe this, but I try not to judge others as much as possible, but come-on man....making an automobile manufacturer engineer and produce a custom ski-box to fit on your six-figure sports car so you can drive it to the ski-hill? Really, that type of behavior/excessive money spending puts this guy out there to be judged.

1. this is a 7-figure sports car
2. do you only judge rich people because they spend the money they've earned?
3. what's an extra £17,593 when you've already spent £1000000+?

There are a lot of judgemental people out there:

Forgive me if it has always been my pet peeve when money is thrown around (albeit IMO only) wastefully. Everyone has a point I think we can agree, where they draw the line b/t a persons right to do something and a waste of money, this was mine - it could differ from yours.

I'd rock one of those and fill the ski lockers with coke. Then I would do 187mph just to prove that my coke locker would stay attached and that the manufacturer was wrong. Then, I would somehow drive my 1100+ hp car to the ski resort (not being a douchebag of course in the process), and humbily exit the vehicle in my ostritch skin ski boots and whale scrotum covered ski goggles signing checks to the homeless ski bums that frequent Norway's ski resorts.

All of you need to stop being internet superstars who've never judged someone by their appearance and not their actions. It's almost as absurd as one claiming that they've never lied.

we're all judgmental unfortunately. however, none of us know who the owner of the car is nor what he does with all of his money other than buy 7-figure sports cars maybe he gives away tons of money to charity like bill gates now, or he could be a giant douchebag.

hell, if i had the money to own this car and had the option to drive it to the mountain with snow tires? i'd probably do it once or twice.

i understand and share your point of view though.

I do not agree in the slightest PlanB. If somebody has had the fortitude to build an empire and make enough to buy a 7 figure play thing, then power to him. It is only jealousy making you say such things. If you want to do that then you work harder and start your own company and then build it into an empire that makes you wealthy.

How would you feel if somebody called you a rich douche bag who flaunts his money by having a car AND a motorcycle. What a rich ahole. You have FAR too much money PlanB. How dare you afford two toys.

Your only gripe is that YOU cannot afford it. By somebody with far less means, YOU are the rich Douche bag for having two means of sporty transportation.

Perspective is something we should all strive for.

Still my favorite hypercar...you can have all your Paganis and Bugattis.

I would just be worried to have a car that TopGear had a part in developing. I mean look what they did with team Lotus in F1 last year.

The car? Well I like the new pagani more. It is more crazy looking, and I have never really fallen in love with the Koenigsegg. This one looks more like a body cladding tack on car than the pagani.

Did you see the Top Gear episode with this the Koenigsegg CCX? It's not exactly a traction dream at high speeds. Even the Stig lost control multiple times. This appears to be of a very similar shape.

Unless this 1000hp beast is awd, I'd love to see somebody drive that in the snow and keep it on the road. In any event, cool car

It'll only do 186 with the custom ski box roof.

Without the custom ski box roof... most likely well over 250. Won't be slower than the old one, at least not in a straight line.

Once the tires have hooked up.

In fourth gear.

At the better part of 200 MPH.

Spend seven figures on car... and it doesn't even have a retractable spoiler. A 15 year old VW Corrado even has that. This car is a huge waste of money. Why not have NRE just build you something like their 1800hp 2400lb Mosler? http://www.nelsonracingengines.com/c...-Supercar.html

Dex, that's BEFORE the "Top Gear Wing" and the Agera R has a wing, so i think the rear end will be plenty planted to the ground.

Got a chuckle out of that too.

@Dex:
A washed up Formula 3 driver and stunt driver isn't exactly the gold standard of car control.

No doubt Collins knows how to drive, but implying that the Stig is one of the best drivers around is probably a bit optimistic.

All good points.. but I believe Koenigseggeggeggeggegg was selling their cars to the public.. not just people who possess a FIA racing license... which may have been his point.
