Default Interesting Turbo News for next year.

I went up to one of the bigger dealers around to talk about getting my 03 GT. We chatted for a bit and bs'ed around and we started to talk about a subaru drive a thon he want to. He said they bring there new stuff and also bring like 10 prototypes.

One special one he noted was a Legacy GT with the 2.0 turbo in it and it had the shiftronic. He talked about driving it with out using the shifter and the nice difference when using it.

I was rather amazed by all this LOL.
He said that subaru wants to have it come out next year as a 04 model but have it out at the end of 03. He said he can't guarantee or put it in writing but he said YES.

He said people argued about putting the 6 in there but that didn't go to far. It seems the 4 turbo will sell more.

I guess I almost believe him. He new he had a sale for the 03 and chose to tell me this which made me reconsider until the next model is out.

Just thought I would share some new news!

Interesting to say the least. Yet another piece to this mysterious puzzle it is. Wait and see we will.

Default I'm going to drive my 98's until they drop

and buy an STI Forester for my wife to replace her 01 S and a Turbo GT Wagon (or an H6 GT Wagon if it makes it that far and if it has a 5 or 6 speed manual) for me.

SH1993 - You're right about the dealers. But I'm a patient person and if I see something that I want, I'll figure out a way to get there, even if I have to make it happen myself (i.e., build one to suit). It may take some time but eventually I'll succeed. I look at the tradeoff in my time vs. how long I'd have to wait for Subaru to make it happen and if Subaru's time horizon for delivery and my time horizon for making it coincide, then I'll wait for Subaru and I'll go work on another project. In the end, it's really all about time...

It's not as if I really expect the turbo to be out next year but he knew he had a sale on an 03 and chose to tell me this to make me wonder. His loss not mine

01LegGT - That was darn decent of your Subaru dealer and your point was not missed.

When I hear stories from the local crew like: "this is the last one we're getting until next year and the prices are going to go up so you better buy this demo car with 600 miles on it today." That kind of nonsense to a potential buyer disenfranchises me from ever wanting to deal with a dealer again. Wait! I'm not going to deal with a dealer again. Sounds like you may actually have a god rapport with one of the rare ones.
