Default Whiteline HD Endlinks > Front

Any of you running these? Went to install a set today, and they didn't seem to fit... just curious if anyone else has used these. There wasn't enough clearance on the lower connection.

Anhow... thought I'd check... thanks in advance for info.

They work great for me and were easy to install. Weird. Can you post pics of the problem?

Wish I had my camera with me when I was installing today. I'll post pics if I attempt again...

The issue was the lower bolt... where the link bushing fits into channel box-shapped fitting; in the back side of this "box" fitting there is a weld that attaches it to the arm/suspension/brace (obviously don't konw the correct name for this part, and sound like a jackass ). Anyhow, this weld in the back protrudes enough to not allow the endlink to slip far enough back where it should in order for the holes to line up. Also, when comparing the stock plastic/rubber link to the WL link, the WL link is approx. 3/4" longer.... which wouldn't seem to be an issue as the bar can rotate up to match.

From what I know, there is only one link set by WL that is supposed to work on "most" subarus.

The rears fit like a charm. I know the fronts should too This should be, and is, a very simple installation, kinda bummed they didn't seem to fit correctly.

Tora: I too was going to run these w/ my stock bar in the front... and have the WL adjustable in the rear.

I purchased these from a local guy; they came off his 99/00 Impreza RS.

Got under the car again today to make sure I wasn't just having a special moment yesterday. I checked both front endlinks for fit, had a rubber mallet on hand, and tried every angle/rotation inserting the bottom end of the link first... they don't quite fit.

Took a couple photos for reference:

Oh well.

What helped you differentiate the top from the bottom in that blurry photo?

That wasn't the problem. The Top has a larger diameter bolt, and hole, this helps in figuring which way is up ; ) However, I did try flipping it... and the metal is the same thickness at either end and still contacts the point shown (screwdriver) just the same.

Funny, I've decided that's where my noise up front is coming from. At first I thought it was the sway bar mounts, then I replaced the lower ball joint (which made the car feel a little better, but I still had this pop noise occasionally) and now I've noticed that the end-link is rubbing right there where you're pointing out.

I will have to look at mine but it just seems like they need to be flipped. If not verticaly than horizontally. I could be totally wrong too. Maybe the MY99 are different?

Default maybe I should done a search first...

but I am having the same exact issue trying to install my front endlinks.

Snowone - did you ever resolve this?

I have a feeling that our MY cars are not compatible. It sucks to figure this out now...

I ran into the same deal when I installed mine. I had to file some of the bracket away to give them enough clearance to swing into place. It didn't take much, and it didn't seem like it would effect any structural integrity.

I tried flipping, rotating, & pounding during install... ended up not using the links. I suppose it would've been fine to grind out some clearance to make them fit. However, I wasn't happy with the force fit.

I mentioned the issue to Whiteline when inquiry about their "upgrade program" for the new style rear endlinks, and they said they were unaware of this issue. I'll have to dig up the WL reply to my email with the photos of the front link fitment situation.

I'm waiting to see if they have a new front link design that will fit our application.
