Question Skid plate dimensions?

Just wondering if there's any specific sizing out there to make your own because I want to make one out of this:

And I've done a search and found a big list of plates but nothing with dimensions

Should be, it's just big and awkward now.
Once it's cut down a bit I don't think it will bend.

Bad Idea #1 - Having possession of state/federal property that carries a hefty fine (in virginia I believe it was 2,500 per sign).

Bad Idea #2 - Driving around with aforementioned bad idea strapped to your car so a cop can easily see it and ensure you get what's coming to you. Unless your car is a covered trailor queen then you will be caught.

Bad Idea #3 - Posting picture evidence of your illegal possession on the internet where anyone can call your local police and let them know your illegal deeds.

On another note, I don't think a road sign is thick enough for the protection you want. Good luck with the authorities my friend.

lol,
idea 1, you can legally buy signs from govt auctions. just get a recipe.
idea 2. unless hes driving a lifted suby nobody is going to see this skid plate
idea 3. again, you dont know

on your last note, yea, sines are way to thin to be used as a skid plate. a splash guard sure. but not a skid plate.

Get out with that crap.

I have a stop sign skid plate. On my project car. Bought it off a guy who got it from the state or something like that. Second. I've never been pulled over for it. You can't see that its a stop sign unless you put your head on the asphalt. A picture of a sign is hardly damning evidence. And I doubt cops are going to give two ****s if some guy from a different state calls and says someone posted a picture of a sign (that he could very well have acquired legally) And said he want to make a skid plate out of it. Oh noz. He didn't ask 'can o get away with..' or 'is it legal to...' he said what are the dimension.

Wowww. It was just an old sign from the turnpike. My friend works there an said it was no problem for him to take it.
And my mistake, I really meant splash guard instead of skid plate. I don't do a whole lot of off roading, none actually, I'm kinda close to the ground....

I'm gonna get pulled over and the cop is going to lay on the ground.. Right.

The only reason I didn't go with a stop sign is because red is a little more noticeable than a white sign would be. And this one is going to cover up more.

So does it actually work? Because I just got a sign today that in planning on using as a skid plate but if ita but thick enough I won't waste my time with it
