Default How to install uderseat woofer?

Got the box w/harness. I have a Sony head unit with an adapter harness(a la Crutchfield). This adapter does not have a signal input; the woofer powers up but no boomboomboom.

Can I run a parallel signal output, say from one of the four speaker outputs to the woofer?

Any advice is appreciated.

Paul

All that I've replaced is the head unit & speakers; still running stock wiring.
My plans are use seperate amps for the front and rear channels, using the RCA outputs off the head unit.
That leaves the factory speaker outputs for the woofer.

Normally the rear speakers power the subwoofer. I dont understand though, if you have the stock wiring the subwoofer should already be receiving a signal. Or did you run new wires for the speakers.

Also Id suggest dumping that crap arm they include to install the sub. Attach the sub to the bottom of the seat in some way that it cannot "float."

I used some large zip ties around the normal screws in the bottom (with a washer) and the sub is now very secure against the bottom of the seat. The passenger now gets a nice but massage

if u r trying to run a sub off of the head unit it might not be enough power. Most replacement head units have liek 4x45 watts. If u were able to put all the wattage to the sub u would be straight, if not there is most likely not enough power

he's talking about the factory underseat sub
yes, hooking it in parallel (preferably to a back channel. but it doesn't matter) should work.......
