Yesterday, as I was showing my WRX to a coworker, I noticed some coolant had been leaking and spraying back into the engine. I couldn't find the leak so I figured I'd look when I got home. When I got home, I popped the hood and saw that my upper radiator tank had a nice crack in it and was spraying out fluid.
I fixed it temporarily this morning by JB Welding the crack (we took Amy's car to work), but will need a new radiator before too long. Yay! |

Didn't Rob have one laying around? ...or am I completely fabricating things in my head...

Must be the stock radiator? That sucks... Pretty much any WRX with a multi-piece radiator should plan on replacement eventually.

Yep, stock radiator. I'm looking at some pretty aluminum ones now. Hopefully, the JB Weld holds until I can get a new one installed. |

Question: I'm assuming an all aluminum radiator takes you out of the stock class for SCCA? I couldn't find anything specifically about radiators or cooling systems in the rules.

I would probably just run stock unless somebody complained.

I've been planning on running STX from the get-go anyway. I know I won't be competitive yet, but once the new motor goes in, I'll be working on the supporting mods for that class.

Yeah, but the stock radiator in my car is known to go bad. It's already turning brownish green, and it's supposedly all downhill from there.

Ran across this article today regarding hacking a 2004 Subaru headunit to add an auxiliary input jack: http://hackaday.com/2011/05/18/aux-i...-subaru-radio/

Just barely over 4000 miles of ownership and I've picked up my first nick in the paint already:
![]() ![]() I swear if you even look at the paint funny on a Subaru you get a scratch. ![]() My buddy at the body shop is mixing up some paint to fill it and he's gonna put a new clear bra piece on it. |

I know this is a long shot but I got my car back after a mechanic jacked me around for the last 15 months.
Anyway I was putting new brakes on it 4 a road trip to Chicago tomorrow and snapped a bolt on the Caliper Bracket. I can get the part in the morning for $30 but if someone has a spare layin around that I could buy tonight, let me know. You can PM me or text/call at 515-778-7256 Thanks |

I'm gonna miss Pete.
Last night, I went over to his place to pick up a few things he didn't want to take to Bawshtun. He had to run a few blocks away to get the garage door opener from his roommate's car. As I was talking to him, he was trying to unlock the car to get the opener and it wasn't working. He then realized that his roommate's car was a few spots over and the car he was at just looked similar. ibcoolstorybro |

Haha, ok to clear that up...it was the EXACT SAME CAR....silver Lexus, same year, wheels, interior etc, still pretty entertaining though
At one point I believe I cursed the Lexus name a few times. |
