External wastegate fab help needed

Ive got the new tial 38mm wastegate and want to modify my invidia uppipe to make it work but ive got a few questions is 321 stainless a better choice even if the uppipe is 304 and what size pipe would be the best to have the flange welded on(im assuming the wrong diameter pipe could cause boost creep and other problems). Heres what im looking at

use 1.75" tube as it will slide into the counterbore on the inlet flange. 321 is best but 304 will do, just brace it for extra security. I strictly use 321 on all preturbo tubing.

alright thanks and im assuming the 16 gauge would be the best?
