Default Kit Car....WRX STI Powered

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum but have a feeling I will be spending some time here.
I'm interested in building a kit car (the SDR V-Storm out of the UK). The engine will be a WRX turbo but as far as the engine goes, this is all I know. The 1st goal here is to determine which year/engine/turbo is preferred and where is the best place to buy a salvage donor car, or even better the engine/trans and all other components to make it run....ecu,fuel pump, harnesses.

Any help or initial thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys!

Default SDR V-Storm coming to the US

Looking for a EJ20T engine kit to use in the kit car.
Anybody know where I can get a complete kit?

This will be the 1st V-Storm in the US!

My advice would be to find a wrecked or salvage titled WRX, then swap everything over (after verifying that it all works ) - that way you'll have every part you need.

Default V-Storm engine kit

Just following up on this thread. Ended up finding a guy in California that builds Subaru engines and even supplies them in kit form. Kit includes engine, trans, headers, and all engine management electronics. The V-Storm kit is coming along nice and the Subaru 2.5L looks nice in its new home.

Sure come check it out! I welcome anyone interested in the V-Storm to come take a look. This has been a great project and being based off the Subaru I figured it would interest a few NASIOC members.

Awesome project Steve! Just curious, is the Stinger incapable of controlling the subaru coil packs? I'm assuming you're using an MSD type ignition setup.

Thanks for the support, and of course I will keep the updates coming.

The Stinger is controlling all the engine functions, including the coil.
Good call honestabe, yes mid-engine. After removing the differential I just needed to add a splined "lock-up" coupling to the inner and outer drive shafts to ensure all power is sent to the wheels.
Yes there is a cat on the downpipe. Exhaust was supplied with the V-Storm kit, manufactured by Cobra Sport exhaust out of the UK.
Stay tuned!

And Scott, you prolly have your own track plans. If not check out the guys at 3Balls Racing dot com. They rent various tracks for open track days. Low key good group to run with if so inclined. Grattan, Gingerman, Waterford, Mid Ohio, etc.

Some more wiring to go but the gauges have power and sending units connected.
