What is this?

Just wondering what the purpose is of this plastic piece behind my gas pedal. Anyone know?

it keeps the carpet from bunching up under the pedal or falling on top and preventing you from lifting off the gas.

I'm pretty sure it holds you carpet to the floor of the vehicle....yes i just ran outside and checked. thats exactly what it does.

Actually that unit there is the location where the optional ejector seat button goes. Great for those times when the person in the passenger seat know how to drive better than you.

I can't tell you how many times that thing has saved my ass. One time I was driving through town and some ugly fat chick comes running up to my car screaming something. I heard these 5 words in the confusion, "CAN - YOU - GIVE - ME - RIDE?" With cars in front of me, behind, and to my side, there was no escape. I follied for the door lock button, but with the windows still open, time was running out, so I hit the eject button. My sunroof flicked open and charges propelled my seat upwards with the quad rockets igniting simotaneously, launching me safely out of harms way. When I reached an altitude of 250 feet my parachute deployed, and I floated back through the sunroof into the car. By this time, people moved out of my way so I could drive on without distraction. Then a hot chick came running up to the car, "hey that was pretty cool, mind if I jump in" So I unlocked the door and she hopped in, but thats a different story!
