Phew, updates......where to begin..
In Dec 2012 I was getting ready for a winter/off season of trackdays and tuition to improve my driving skills and decided to have the car mapped for a bit more power.
Sadly my engine let go at 570bhp on the dyno even though others running the same spec are getting good use out of theirs at 700+. Turns out none of the tolerances etc were checked during the build
Blew the HG but in such a way it destroyed the block, heads, pistons, 1 rod and the rad. Expensive fix
Having missed all the tuition and trackdays I decided to put a standard JDM v9 bottom end in with STi 8 UK heads just to get back out there and have some fun. Ran it at safe power 360bhp to get some reliability but my bad luck struck again with piston ringland failure after just 2 events.
It's just had a brand new 2.1 built and had a running in map put on it yesterday. 1 bar of boost limited to 5500 revs. Will put some miles on it via the dyno over the next couple of weeks and then drop the oil and have a proper map done. Aiming at 550 to keep things on the safe side.
Fingers crossed this one lasts a little longer than the previous 2. Eventually it will have another 2.35 in it and get 700+ again but cash flow dictates when that will happen.
