Default Anyone running a Stromung cat pipe...

on an otherwise stock car? I have a feeling I'm gonna need a new cat soon, and noticed the Stromung is cheaper than OEM, has the O2 bungs, and is stainless.

Will it throw a CEL? I know people with aftermarket headers/exhausts have issues with this, but was wondering if the same happens with stock pipes.

I know just a hi-flow cat won't really net me any performance, but I'm not worried about that. I'm more concerned with the car running CEL-free. Just wondering if I should just go ahead and spend the extra $50 on OEM.

No, I'm not getting a track pipe.

So, here is a pic of what your original catpipe looks like

You have two cats currently, stromung only has one. The 02 positions on the oem cat pipe are different than stromungs as well.

There is a chance you can throw a CEL due to the different positions of the 02's if you went with the stromung replacement.

Also, if you went with the stromung replacement regardless, you would need to extend the 2nd 02 to reach the furthest bung on the stromung.

something like this http://www.casperselectronics.com/st...oducts_id=1395

I knew about the 2 cats vs 1, but I didn't know the bungs were in different spots. OEM it is, then. Thanks.

^^ Yes, bungs are for sure not exactly in the same spot, they might be close but doubt it's dead balls on. 02 sensors are finicky bitches and small changes in exhaust flow or temps can send them into a tiff!
