BMW M3 still beats the Boss on the track in competition.

Well.. the stock M3 would probably beat the Boss around the track if it had r-comps, too.

In the world of "Beemers" the brand name is worth the $$$ difference.

I'd pay extra money not to be seen in a Mustang too...

BMW makes one classy car... Ford? Not so much.

Sweet Ford commercial!

YEP!!

WRX wagon is quite understated compared to the "look at me" Boss Mustang. Cops don't even look at me here in the south.

The Boss is a capable car though... Too over the top for me though.

you have no idea what you are talking about! Ford only won back-back Koni-Cup championships against the M3.

I wonder how the 1M would do on Laguna Seca. It's around the same price and, well, not a mustang. $47,000 for the 1M vs. $43,000 for the Boss with Recaro package. I'd take the beamer, but I am really not a fan of Mustangs.

Koni Cup? You gotta be kidding me! HAHAHA. Not exactly a factory effort. Bad example. ALMS on the other hand... BMW factory team won the championship last year against stiff competition. In front of my eyes at Petit. No Mustang on track, but plenty of Ferraris, Corvettes, Porsches etc.

what are talking about Ford won the FACTORY championship as well as winning the Grand-Am series as well, against BMW, Porsche, Audi.

The new Ford coyote V8 engine is hot. It flows more air than pretty much any other stock engine. I would put it on my short list.

Most of us like the new mustang, as does the automorld in general. Maybe try vtecomg.com for more arguing.

My problem with the boss mustang, and I know its not a fair comparison, is I can get a slightly used z6 zo6 for the same moneies. More hps, less weight, way more tire, way more brakes....

before you jump on me, i did say I know its not a fair comparison, but I do shop by price. A regular gt may replace my wrx wagon as the daily beater in a year or so though.

Yeah that's the fairness the public wants from those who enforce the law.

I'm sure there are several defense attorneys in your area who would be interested in that comment.

On another note....Go Ford.

The fact that the car is comparable to the M3 speaks volumes. And if you havent sat in the car recently I wouldnt slam interior quality.

VTL is up to the discretion of the officer. so until you know wtf you're talking about save your smart ass remarks. and it wouldn't be a defense attorney who'd be interested, it would be the DA's office!

the Z's have their own problems. the IRS just can't handle the power. they wheel hop like crazy. if you mod it, there goes the warranty. the ECU tells GM it's been changed. you need deep pockets to modify as well. i went to trade in my GT500 for an '11 ZO6 in January. but i knew i wouldn't leave it stock so i changed my mind.

I suppose if you're a sheeple buying your car as a status symbol, then sure. BTW, "Beemers" are BMW motorcycles, "Bimmers" are BMW cars.

And you drive a Subaru WRX, the new Honda Civic for the 21st century. You're one to speak.

Depends on where you're at. I've been harassed in the south in the past purely because I drove a Subaru in bum**** Alabama. Ever see that Top Gear episode where they get chased out of that hick town in rural Alabama? Yeah, that's not too far from the truth in my experience.

Heh. I don't know what it is. Maybe the combination of aspen white, wagon, and no dropped suspension or tint? I've been lucky enough to have avoided all but a couple of minor speeding tickets over the past 5.5 years and 82k miles. One of the speeding tickets was in El Paso, Texas for 6 over in a 55. Guy thought I was trafficking drugs or something. He spent an hour going through my interior with tweezers...

Honestly the Mustang GT is one of the few new cars I would consider buying in the current market. I know I would enjoy it, I just don't think I could grow to love it. I know I could grow to love the M3 and It makes the extra money spent seem worth it.

If I was to get into a mustang I would get the GT and dress it up with Boss suspension parts etc. I just don't like the loud looks, nor would I want to extensively modify the outward appearance of a car like the Boss.

I just don't like these track comparos. I'd be willing to bet that with the same rubber and the same pro driver, the m3 would win out on 9 of 10 tracks around the country. People just take too much stock in stuff like this.
