Whining noise

I have a 07 2.5i. When I'm driving between 53-59 I have a whining noise that sounds like its coming from the rear diff. Can anybody think of anything. Doesnt happen at other speeds.

hmm, i think i might know what is giving you that problem. do you notice it when the car shifts into over drive that its starts doing it. i had a similer noise like a mid picthed whine or whistle when it was doing that but only at certian speed could i here it.

I would think it would be over drive since its over 50 mph. What was the outcome you had?

i just took it in and put a new over drive switch or solinoid thing lol what ever that damn thing is call but that fixed my problem. so hopefully its the same for you man.
