Timing Cover Gasket

Do you need to replace timing cover gasket if you pop it off to inspect condition of the timing belt?

So basically, if it fits back in to its grooves youre good to go?

You should be.
When I replaced my timing belt the gasket was compressed so it got replaced with a new one that fit tighter.

yea if it sits back in your good. but most of the time it doesnt. good to have one on hand just incase. if you dont need it return it.

How many miles are you at?
If its less than 105k why does it need checking?

194k on it.

My guess is its either excellent or F'd. Going on a 2k+ road trip in a month and need to cover some bases! Plus i have a front (something) seal leak i need to inspect.
