Thumbs down Yokohama AVS db

I've had these tires for awhile now; they were a replacement for the RE 92s more-or-less as opposed to purchasing a strictly summer tire.

Well, they are certainly quiet and perform exceptionally well in the rain. That said, they are really suited more for a "luxury sport sedan" (whatever that means... Pontiac Grand Prix?) and though they don't particularly lack for dry grip, soft sidewalls cause an unnerving amount of flex. Coupled with the body roll on a WRX, the overall experience in a corner isn't confidence-inspiring-- less so than with the RE 92s!

Having been a big fan of Yokohamas, the AVS db represented, I thought, a good value at $99/tire since the tire is a part of the "advanced vehicle system" line. In retrospect, I'd have preferred the AVS Intermediate (currently $58/tire at the Tire Rack) since I have snows for winter. FWIW...

hey i have these tires too. Mine are on 18x8s though. I have experienced the rollover though. I thought the rollover was just cuz i had 18s....i guess they really do have soft side walls then. I wanted to get the AVS sports but those tires are like 250/tire.....so i went for the db. Theyre almost gone so i think ill go for the Kumho Ecsta MX or the yoko ES100 or something, those look good.
