Hello, right at the very top of this very forum are 2 VERY HELPFULL stickies.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=345720

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1471819

You don't even have to search to find these threads, they are right at the very top of the forum, there is absolutely no need to start a thread like this.

A word of advice, if you want to get along with the people on here, do some research and some searching before you post something like this because this issue has been covered infinity times.

Or you can post more threads like this and get the pants flamed off of you.

Just a heads up, people on here can be very unforgiving.

It's not so much whether you can stand the flames, it's whether you get flamed and never get your question answered.

Forget about the flames. The way to get results and good answers to your questions on NASIOC, is to search, read, and then ask. It helps also to post what your car is, what mods you have done, transmission type, how do you use it (DD, track, autocross, etc), what is your style of driving, etc. more info gets you better answers. It's probably not as simple a question as you think it is.

If you make some effort and show that you have done some reading and thinking about it, then people are pretty receptive and helpful...though you may not hear what you want to hear and you may still get flamed on occasion.

If you simply post "what mods should I do to my car?" type questions, you will get lumped into more than a decade long history of other people who have asked similar questions and faded away.

hey man i have a 09 2.5i and the intake harms more than it helps because of the way our intake is set up it will actually lean out and hurt ur car allot more than it helps. Im running an intake but i had ray at turbotektuning do a tune and it runs fine now but ya i dont recommend running one without a tune

Your question is not as simple as you think it is, which is why everyone has suggested you read up first. They pointed you to where you could find the answer very easily.

The answer to your question is: Don't bother with an intake.

The reasons why are in that sticky thread and at the touch of a search button.

The computer doesn't really suck, it't just a machine. When people ask a machine, that does it's job very well, to suddenly do something that is not it's job to do, it's not the machine's fault if it doens't work.

The ECU does a great job of maintaining the A/F mixture within the factory programmed parameters.

That's why you have it tuned. Still, after all that is said and done, is the cost of the intake and the tune really worth the small HP gain? For some it is, but for many (most?), that money is best spent elsewhere.

Start with tires and a rear sway bar. RSB should be your first mod on an 08+ Impreza anyway. You don't have one from the factory.

If you didn't care about money, you should've bought a car that was worth modifying.

Forget about power - focus on suspension, GOOD tires, and becoming a better driver through HPDE's and other instruction. Do some autox, and have some fun.
